The 19th Annual “Moonlight” Pond Tour is tonight! And this year we landed on the night of the Full Harvest Moon 🌝 So everyone is in for a real treat! Don’t miss this Unique Garden Tour Experience! Tickets are $20 ea. (children under 12 are FREE!).
– The Jackson Animal Care Center receives 100% of the money from the tickets we sell for the tour! We Love and Support our Local Animal Care Center and we support their Mission in our Community. Summer is officially over! Fall is here 🍁 And it feels good… Cool morning, hot coffee ☕️, the leaves are showing color, football 🏈 is on 5 days a week… AND, my garden is thriving! I still have a load of Tomatoes 🍅 ripening on the vine, I have Brussels sprouts growing, as well as broccoli 🥦 carrots 🥕 and Turnip greens! My mums are showing out and today I’m potting up some pansies and ornamental kale. Yeppers, so far so good with Fall!
We will be touching things up in the coming days and evenings for the Moonlight Pond Tour, and I’m looking forward to that! The Harvest Moon 🌝 is a big deal around here 😊
Still in the back of my mind, I’m missing the heat of Summer… So I smile and tell myself, it’s Fall now dummy! Get the net…

The days are growing shorter as we approach the Autumnal Equinox… Why does it feel to me like the change is in high gear? Because I know it’s a normal yearly cycle, every year it happens, year after year as it has for millennia… I guess my own perception is the faulty variable 😊 My ‘busyness’… Maybe my own need to slow down and get in sync with the rhythm of the seasons?
I’ve been out since early this morning. The gardens are changing seasons again… It’s a magical change that makes me both incredibly happy and sad at the same time. Happy for the cooler days, the colorful landscape, the coming holiday seasons, but sad because of the loss of Summertime, swimming, warm nights in the garden and long days and evenings on the porch….
BUT, I always feel a sense of sadness at the end of Summer for some reason… And I always say “not this year”! But here we are again, and I’ve got this melancholy feeling going on…
I’m going to drink 1 more cup of coffee, then I’m gonna fix lunch 🥪 Maybe a tomato 🍅 sandwich? Nothing more Summer than that! Then, I’m gonna put on my Fall big boy britches and get on with the rat 🐀 killing’.
