New Years Eve 2019!

Here we are, the last day of 2019. The crossroads of a new year! A new decade! New Years Eve is always a strange and special day. You look back and you look ahead.

Hindsight is 2020… So is next year 😎

The future is what we make of it… You always hear that & in my experience, it rings true! Lets do this! Lets make 2020 the best year yet! Here’s to the future!

“Should auld acquaintance be
Forgot
and never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be
Forgot
and days of auld lang syne?
For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne,
We’ll take a cup of kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.”
     ~ Robert Burns

Sunday Reflections…

Rainy night followed by a rainy morning. I’ve been sipping coffee since early, thinking about the holidays and all the family we got to see and all the stuff we did. We are having one more late holiday get together with some out of town family and then it’s all about New Years!

Only a few days left in this decade! What will I do with them…

Today is the last Sunday of the year! Last Sunday of the decade to be exact! It’s been a good year! Fast but good. I have started a list of goals for 2020. #1 in the list, spend more quality time with family and friends. The more I think about it, that’s a goal worth striving for.

Have a great Sunday with family and friends!

New Years is Coming!

The Last Friday Report Of 2019

The New Year is Coming! Fast! In fact this is the last Friday of 2019! Pretty crazy that it has gone by so quickly… But, it’s true that “time flies”!

2019 is on the way out! What does 2020 hold for YOU???

A good friend once told me the older you get the faster the time flies. It took me a while to understand that, but now I think I do. In a simple way, the older we get, the less time we have in our future… The demand is still there, but the supply is dwindling. So time becomes more and more valuable! That makes sense in my mind.
So along those lines, 2020 is coming fast & I want to make the very best I can of every moment! 😊

Im already working on my 2020 Events Calendar for Carters Nursery (I’m very excited for next year!).

What do you want in 2020? Do you set goals? Do you make “Resolutions”?

I don’t normally do New Years “Resolutions” but I’m considering a couple this year… IF I do, I will post them for all to see 😊 It may help my accountability to any resolution I make? We will see…

Good luck! & Heres to a GREAT 2020!

– See y’all next year!

Christmas Eve Love ❤️

Christmas Eve is here… It feels like it will never arrive, then Boom  💥 In reality it seems to fly by faster each year. Our family always gathers today for a big get together and meal. Then we watch a Christmas movie. Then we always get to pick a present to open tonight, saving the others till Tomorrow morning. Then before bed we read The Night Before Christmas, aka: A Visit From St. Nicholas. There is a lot of comfort in these family traditions ❤️ and this is always one of my favorite days of the year. I hope you all have a happy day and get to enjoy some family traditions of your own.

Don’t forget to leave milk and cookies for Santa tonight 🎅🏻 Merry Christmas!

A Visit from St. Nicholas
Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;
The children were nestled all snug in their beds;
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads;
And mamma in her ‘kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled our brains for a long winter’s nap,
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow,
Gave a lustre of midday to objects below,
When what to my wondering eyes did appear,
But a miniature sleigh and eight tiny rein-deer,
With a little old driver so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment he must be St. Nick.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name:
“Now, Dasher! now, Dancer! now Prancer and Vixen!
On, Comet! on, Cupid! on, Donner and Blitzen!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!”
As leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky;
So up to the housetop the coursers they flew
With the sleigh full of toys, and St. Nicholas too—
And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound.
He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;
A bundle of toys he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a pedler just opening his pack.
His eyes—how they twinkled! his dimples, how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard on his chin was as white as the snow;
The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke, it encircled his head like a wreath;
He had a broad face and a little round belly
That shook when he laughed, like a bowl full of jelly.
He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself;
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread;
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk,
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose;
He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight—
“Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!”
~ Clement Clarke Moore  (1823).

Peace, Love & Merry Christmas! 🎄❤️

Christmas Zen

Good Morning! Christmas spirit is in the air! We are only 2 days from the Big Day! I couldn’t think of a better way to relax and get into the spirit than listening to good Christmas music in front of a roaring fire 🔥

Sunday Reflections…

Good morning and Merry Christmas to all! We are in the final countdown to the big day…

The time is flying by! 3,2,1 Boom 💥

This world is wild as an old wives’ tale,
And strange the plain things are,
The earth is enough and the air is enough
For our wonder and our war;
But our rest is as far as the fire-drake swings
And our peace is put in impossible things
Where clashed and thundered unthinkable wings
Round an incredible star.

To an open house in the evening
Home shall men come,
To an older place than Eden
And a taller town than Rome.
To the end of the way of the wandering star,
To the things that cannot be and that are,
To the place where God was homeless
And all men are at home.

~ G.K. Chesterton “The House of Christmas”.

Merry Christmas 🎄 🎅🏻
