The Last Waterfall Wednesday Of 2020 | Carters Nursery, Pond & Patio | Jackson, Tennessee

New Year’s Day is only 2 days away… It’s almost time to say bye bye 👋🏻 to 2020! Ive been trying to find a picture of the perfect Waterfall to post for the last #waterfallwednesday of the year.

I couldn’t decide on just 1 picture… So, I made a collage of several images of beautiful Water Features. I hope everyone is ready to move into a new year! And, I hope that 2021 will be the best year ever!

Waterfalls are my business and my passion! So trying to pick one that’s my “favorite” is impossible. They are all so beautiful and unique. So I cheated 😊 and made a collage of many beautiful images…

Here’s to a New Year! And, here’s to Beautiful Waterfalls! 💥

2021 is Coming! | Carters Nursery, Pond & Patio | Jackson, TN

We are at the end of 2020! As the last few days count down, I find myself doing what I always do this time of the year… Planning! Getting ready for next season! I’m hopeful that the coming spring will bring a more normal season for us all! Last years entire event schedule was ruined by COVID-19… NO workshops, no pond tours, no seminars, nothing got to happen. So, I’m really excited and hopeful, that things are going to be much different in this new year!

Every year I sit down and plan events with a fresh new calendar. This new year will be no different! If you fail to plan, your planning to fail! I’m looking forward to a better 2021!

We also plan to eat our traditional New Years Meal! Hog Jowl, black eyed peas, cabbage, greens, cornbread & more! These old traditions must live on!

I LOVE our New Years tradition of eating dinner with the family. We always have fried Hog Jowl, Black Eyed Peas, Turnip Greens & Cornbread! Plus much more … I’m ready to Welcome in 2021!

In any case, 2021 Is Coming, ready or not… Be ready 😊

Sunday Reflections…

We stayed up LATE last night, binge watching movies and eating Christmas goodies… I normally don’t sit up real late, so it was different & fun 🤩 Until this morning…

You ever sleep through the alarm 🚨 Late night = dog pile 😴 Let me sleep…

It’s been a Great Christmas season! But I think I’m ready for 2021… Now, for a shower 🚿

“Hope smiles from the threshold of the year to come, whispering ‘it will be happier.’”
~ Alfred Lord Tennyson

Have a great Sunday!

Everyone LOVES Christmas ❤️ Even the Pets 🐈 🐕

We had such a relaxing, pleasant Christmas Day! We watched movies with our parents, opened a few presents, ate Lunch with mom & dad & then, took a YUGE nap 😴

last years Christmas picture. We didn’t all get together as usual this year. So many now have to be careful for health reasons. But everyone was missed and loved and included in our prayers 🙏🏻

I think the pets had more fun than anyone! They all received a present 🎁 of their own and literally tore them up by supper 🎅🏻😂

Yes, they each got their own! But neither was interested in old Gumby until there was a competition involved… Then, poor old Gumby 🥺

Even the kitty came by for Christmas 🎄 She’s really an outdoor cat 🐈 and only comes in when she wants too. Usually, she only asks to come in on special occasions when there’s more than usual activity, or if it’s really cold. Even then, she hides around the edges or up high somewhere 😊

She’s so funny. She got over there ‘out of sight’ and didn’t make a sound until we started eating… Then, she demanded some Christmas Ham! She got some too 😊

I am so thankful for the blessing of Christmas!

Luke 2:4-19 tells the reason and the true Blessing of Christmas ⭐️

Now, Christmas is behind us and it’s on to the New Year! In less than a week, it’s gonna be 2021! 😳 They say ‘Hindsight is 2020’ …. I think we are all ready to put 2020 in the rear view mirror 🪞

I hope you enjoy the rest of your Christmas weekend! 🙏🏻❤️🎄

Christmas Eve is Here! Were YOU Good?

All of our childhood dreams and fantasies hinge on this day and night 🌝 Santa flying through the sky in a magical sleigh 🛷 delivering toys and gifts to all the good kids… Was Santa a big part of your life as a child? He was ‘IT’ for me… Santa with Elvis a very close second 😊 (I’m being serious baby)…

I think Santa was in awe of Elvis…

So, here’s to all the good boys and girls out there 🥂 Were making a comeback 🎅🏻

Merry Christmas 🎄

A Visit from St. Nicholas

By: Clement Clarke Moore

‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;
The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads;
And mamma in her ’kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled our brains for a long winter’s nap,
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below,
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer,
With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;
“Now, Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen!
On, Comet! on, Cupid! on, Donder and Blitzen!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!”
As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky;
So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,
With the sleigh full of Toys, and St. Nicholas too.
And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound.
He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;
A bundle of Toys he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a pedler just opening his pack.
His eyes—how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow
And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow;
The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath;
He had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook when he laughed, like a bowlful of jelly.
He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself;
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread;
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk,
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose;
He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle,
But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,
“Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night.”

Have a Wonderful Christmas Eve!

A Beautiful, Silent Night 🙏🏻

Did you go outside last night to see the Star ⭐️ They say the alignment of these two heavenly bodies this closely hasn’t happened like last nights occurrence in around 800 years! WOW! Jo, Jacob and I all jumped in the truck right before sunset and drove down the road a ways to a clearing to get a good look 👀

This was an early view before the sky started to darken. That’s Jupiter and Saturn 🪐 up there, so close together that they form an even brighter, magnified ‘star’ ⭐️.

I didn’t get great pictures, mainly because of the camera I was using (iPhone) But it was pretty neat seeing what many think happened on the night of Christ’s birth so long ago.

This is the best closeup I got of the event. I told my son that it won’t happen again until 2080! I won’t be around to see it then for sure, but I sure hope he will. He can think back to when we saw it together in 2020 on the Winter Solstice ⭐️

Peace 🙏🏻 And Merry Christmas 🎄
