“Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass on a summer day listening to the murmur of water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is hardly a waste of time.”
~ John Lubbock
Enjoy this Summer Day!

Spring is my favorite season for many reasons. It’s also my busiest season for many of the same reasons. Coming out of Winter, everyone emerges from their hibernation and blossoms 🌺 The phone starts ringing, and I’m out designing Waterfalls and Landscapes 6 and maybe even 7 days a week… And, I love ❤️ it!
But, right about mid May every year, I look up and realize that Spring is running away… Keeping the work/life balance is tough sometimes 😊 Even on a Sunday Morning.
IF you haven’t, get out there now and grab some Spring before we transition to Summer… It’s right around the corner 🌞

“By the time one is eighty, it is said, there is no longer a tug of war in the garden with the May flowers hauling like mad against the claims of the other months. All is at last in balance and all is serene. The gardener is usually dead, of course.”

April 1st. is April fools day to most… In fact, I had planned a funny post this morning myself… But my mind and emotions steered me in a different direction completely, and I had to start over…
Today was also my Uncle Doug’s birthday. He recently passed away from Covid 19 and has been heavy on my mind. I always took him out for his birthday to a place of his choosing. Sometimes it was as simple as his favorite place for Chinese food here in town, or a place in Memphis for BBQ or maybe he would say “Let’s get some steaks 🥩 and fix dinner for everyone. But since I can remember, I spent this day with him.

My blog title today was meant to express how I feel about the love I have for my Uncle.
Time immemorial (Latin: Ab immemorabili) is a phrase meaning time extending beyond the reach of memory, record, or tradition, indefinitely ancient, “ancient beyond memory or record”. In law, it means that a property or benefit has been enjoyed for so long that its owner does not have to prove how they came to own it.
We were close from the day I was born, before my memory’s started! “beyond memory or record”…
He was a true blessing in my life. Happy Birthday in Heaven Uncle Doug! 🙏🏻 You are truly missed ❤️
“God will wipe away every tear from their eyes,
and death shall be no more,
neither shall there be mourning, nor crying,
nor pain anymore,
for the former things have passed away.”
– Revelation 21:4
PS: If you have someone in your life that has been there for you “beyond memory or record”, be it family or a life long best friend, give them a hug today and tell them you Love them. Things happen in the blink of an eye and then all that’s left, is your memories… 🙏🏻

After work yesterday, we got out on the water to see how the Fall color show was progressing. I Love ❤️ Fall 🍁 I am blessed to live in such a beautiful part of the world and I know it 😊 In a few shorts weeks we will be looking at Thanksgiving 🦃 And all the reds and oranges and golden color will be gone for the year… Get out and see it now because it won’t stay around long… Time flies by 💨
“Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.“
~ Robert Frost

Taking the time to smell the roses 🌹 and to watch the sunrises and sunsets is so important! It’s Labor Day weekend… The Summer seasons last big hurrah! Time to enter Fall… Does it seem like we should be here already? Wow! Summer has passed by like a sunset…

Believe it or not, my dog loves watching the sunset with us. Maybe it’s because we are watching and paying attention to the setting sun ☀️ but he sure seems to love it too ❤️
“It was sunsets that taught me that beauty sometimes only lasts for a couple of moments, and it was sunrises that showed me that all it takes is patience to experience it all over again.” — A.J. Lawless

Most travel plans have been put on hold, as I’m sure you are well aware… So for our Anniversary trip, we decided to do it by Boat 🚣♀️ Talk about social distancing! Tanning, reading, jamming music, taking photos, and just cruising the boat. Only stopping to take dip or refuel at an available marina.
We taken many a road trip as well, but there’s nothing like just floating around on the river for a few days!
“Dark brown is the river.
Golden is the sand.
It flows along for ever,
With trees on either hand.
Green leaves a-floating,
Castles of the foam,
Boats of mine a-boating—
Where will all come home?
On goes the river
And out past the mill,
Away down the valley,
Away down the hill.
Away down the river,
A hundred miles or more,
Other little children
Shall bring my boats ashore.”

I just had to amend my Blog today… it was on deck to publish… and I forgot to pull the trigger 😳
I, WE are taking a few day’s off to celebrate and to try and slow it down a little… Jo and I always try to plan some time around our Anniversary & we both look forward to time together. The years are literally flying by… But, I’ve apparently been having fun, because I haven’t really noticed 😊
So, we are gonna take a break for a few days and try to relax. I will share some pics from the road over the next few days.
Thanks 🙏🏻 Have a great weekend!
