April 1st. is April fools day to most… In fact, I had planned a funny post this morning myself… But my mind and emotions steered me in a different direction completely, and I had to start over…
Today was also my Uncle Dougās birthday. He recently passed away from Covid 19 and has been heavy on my mind. I always took him out for his birthday to a place of his choosing. Sometimes it was as simple as his favorite place for Chinese food here in town, or a place in Memphis for BBQ or maybe he would say āLetās get some steaks š„© and fix dinner for everyone. But since I can remember, I spent this day with him.

My blog title today was meant to express how I feel about the love I have for my Uncle.
TimeĀ immemorial (Latin: Ab immemorabili) is a phrase meaningĀ timeĀ extending beyond the reach of memory, record, or tradition, indefinitely ancient, “ancient beyond memory or record”. In law, it means that a property or benefit has been enjoyed for so long that its owner does not have to prove how they came to own it.
We were close from the day I was born, before my memoryās started! ābeyond memory or recordā…
He was a true blessing in my life. Happy Birthday in Heaven Uncle Doug! šš» You are truly missed ā¤ļø
āGod will wipe away every tear from their eyes,
and death shall be no more,
neither shall there be mourning, nor crying,
nor pain anymore,
for the former things have passed away.ā
Ā ā Revelation 21:4
PS: If you have someone in your life that has been there for you ābeyond memory or recordā, be it family or a life long best friend, give them a hug today and tell them you Love them. Things happen in the blink of an eye and then all thatās left, is your memories… šš»

After work yesterday, we got out on the water to see how the Fall color show was progressing. I Love ā¤ļø Fall š I am blessed to live in such a beautiful part of the world and I know it š In a few shorts weeks we will be looking at Thanksgiving š¦ And all the reds and oranges and golden color will be gone for the year… Get out and see it now because it wonāt stay around long… Time flies by šØ
āNatureās first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leafās a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.ā

Taking the time to smell the roses š¹Ā and to watch the sunrises and sunsets is so important! Itās Labor Day weekend… The Summer seasons last big hurrah! Time to enter Fall… Does it seem like we should be here already? Wow! Summer has passed by like a sunset…Ā

Believe it or not, my dog loves watching the sunset with us. Maybe itās because we are watching and paying attention to the setting sun āļøĀ but he sure seems to love Ā it too ā¤ļø
āIt was sunsets that taught me that beauty sometimes only lasts for a couple of moments, and it was sunrises that showed me that all it takes is patience to experience it all over again.ā āĀ A.J. Lawless
Have a great Sunday!!

Most travel plans have been put on hold, as Iām sure you are well aware… So for our Anniversary trip, we decided to do it by Boat š£āāļø Talk about social distancing! Tanning, reading, jamming music, taking photos, and just cruising the boat. Only stopping to take dip or refuel at an available marina.Ā
We taken many a road trip as well, but thereās nothing like just floating around on the river for a few days!Ā
āDark brown is the river.Ā Ā
Ā Golden is the sand.Ā Ā
It flows along for ever,Ā Ā
Ā With trees on either hand.Ā Ā
Green leaves a-floating,
Ā Castles of the foam,Ā Ā
Boats of mine a-boatingāĀ Ā
Ā Where will all come home?Ā Ā
On goes the riverĀ Ā
Ā And out past the mill,Ā Ā
Away down the valley,Ā Ā
Ā Away down the hill.Ā Ā
Away down the river,Ā Ā
Ā A hundred miles or more,Ā Ā
Other little childrenĀ Ā
Ā Shall bring my boats ashore.ā

My son Jacob turns 18 today. 18 years in the blink of an eye šĀ Many of you know him personally & appreciate the man he has become. Iām about to fix his favorite breakfast and spend the day with my boy… I can still call him that, even though he is 6ā 3ā and weighs about 220… š Iām a Very proud papa!!!

A collage of pictures of our Birthday boy through the years. From the poster boy for the outdoor classroom movement to putting on butterfly programs, hanging out with his favorite performers & to the man he is today. What a great young man he has become ā¤ļø

Rainy night followed by a rainy morning. Iāve been sipping coffee since early, thinking about the holidays and all the family we got to see and all the stuff we did. We are having one more late holiday get together with some out of town family and then itās all about New Years!
Today is the last Sunday of the year! Last Sunday of the decade to be exact! Itās been a good year! Fast but good. I have started a list of goals for 2020. #1 in the list, spend more quality time with family and friends. The more I think about it, thatās a goal worth striving for.
Have a great Sunday with family and friends!
New Years is Coming!

The New Year is Coming! Fast! In fact this is the last Friday of 2019! Pretty crazy that it has gone by so quickly… But, itās true that ātime fliesā!
A good friend once told me the older you get the faster the time flies. It took me a while to understand that, but now I think I do. In a simple way, the older we get, the less time we have in our future… The demand is still there, but the supply is dwindling. So time becomes more and more valuable! That makes sense in my mind.
So along those lines, 2020 is coming fast & I want to make the very best I can of every moment! š
Im already working on my 2020 Events Calendar for Carters Nursery (Iām very excited for next year!).
I donāt normally do New Years āResolutionsā but Iām considering a couple this year… IF I do, I will post them for all to seeĀ š It may help my accountability to any resolution I make? We will see…
Good luck! & Heres to a GREAT 2020!
– See yāall next year!

How time flies! Both of these kids are young adults now! One in college full time and the other a part time college man. Both are very intelligent, special people! I came across this picture and just had to share it š
Time goes by so quickly… This seems like yesterday, but it has been many years now. This is my offering for #throwbackthursday !
