The Moonlight Pond Tour takes place each Fall and coincides with the Full Moon (the Harvest Moon). This year it’s Saturday, September 22nd. The Moonlight Pond Tour showcases Water Gardens, Pondless Waterfalls, Disappearing Fountains, Koi Ponds & more, all under a Gorgeous ‘Moonlit sky’ & enhanced by AWESOME Landscape Lighting | Carters Nursery, Pond & Patio | Jackson, TN
Tickets are $20 ea. (kids under 12 are FREE!). 100% of ALL ticket sales & donations go to the Jackson Animal Care Center!
There were several questions and texts about the Fall Gardening season too. When to start planting and what to plant. – It’s time! I will do a more detailed list of cool season veggies to plant ASAP! Get your soil amended and ready NOW!
And – When can I overseed my lawn with Fescue? NOW! Aerate, overseed & fertilize starting now. Remember – moisture is key, so if you don’t have an irrigation system, layout hoses and sprinklers to keep it watered during this time.

– AND – Basketball great Tony Delk called in to talk about coming home & about helping young upcoming basketball players with his Tony Delk Basketball Academy – he’s coming today to Liberty High in Jackson to do that very thing. Thanks Tony!
We talked briefly about my recent trip to Chicago for CEU training & that turned into a Culinary discussion on all the great food in the Windy City! Italian Beef! Chicago Hotdogs! Chicago Style Pizza! BBQ! Pastries! And the list goes on!!!
The “Tomato Lady” Cindy Springer, called in to say HI & wished us all a Happy Labor Day!
A caller wanted to know how close to plant a fig tree to the house. I would choose a south facing wall then stay 6-8’ off the wall OR espalier the tree against the wall using proper techniques.

I think yesterday was a day for the books! Not only were we able to save that poor flea infested little puppy from almost certain death, we were blessed with the perfect couple to take her into their family and her new Forever Home 🏡.
You remember this flea infested little gal from yesterday’s blog. Well, she was adopted into the perfect family within 30 hours of my original contact.
So many people saw her on my blog yesterday that wanted to know if they could help. Several wanted to Adopt her too 😊 WOW! It makes me feel good about the world when so many offer their support for an abandoned dog.
An old friend called me about her (we were calling her Lil’ Bit’ at the time). As soon as I heard his voice and realized what the call was about, I was thrilled! He and his beautiful wife wanted to give this puppy a home 🏡. I couldn’t think of a better place for her to be!
What a great picture! Lil Bit’ got the perfect family and a Forever Home!
Sometimes things work out! We are going to miss this little gal 😊
She’s happy and headed home now 😊 Good luck with your new home Lil’ Bit. I’m anxious to hear what your name will be. I’ll update everyone when I hear.

I just happened to be in the right place at the right time and was able to save this little puppy that someone just threw out into the street.
Someone literally threw this little puppy out in the street. She was so scared.
She was completely flea infested! I have never seen an infestation worse – WOW! Hundreds of fleas on this 1 little puppy 😞 She had scratched the fur off her neck where she had been itching so badly from all those fleas…
She had scratched the fur completely off in many areas fighting the fleas. It took several baths and quite a while with tweezers to get all the fleas.
After we got her all cleaned up, we got her to take some milk from a syringe & then off to the vet we went.
I don’t think she had eaten in a while.
The vet gave her the needed shots, wormed her, trimmed her nails & weighed her (1 lb). She’s around 7 weeks old. Now she’s sleeping soundly wrapped up in a blanket.
She’s sleeping & doing fine. It’s got to be a relief not to have all those fleas…
I think she’s gonna be ok 😊 All she needed was a little Love ❤️

We make this trip every August for training to keep our certification up to date. What do we do? We build Water Features. Take design classes. Learn about new equipment & innovations. Etc etc …

This Pondless Waterfall is located at an Event Center in the Chicagoland area. It was built a little over 2 years ago as a training event for Professional “Certified” Pond Builders, aka: CAC’s (Certified Aquascape Contractors) to learn more about Large scale water features. I am back in town for a yearly conference with my fellow CAC’s, (I am a Master CAC) and just had dinner out here by this feature and wanted to share it with all of you. The plants have all been updated and had time to fill in nicely. It turned out Beautifully! Check it out…
