Happy Labor Day to ALL! This was my zen last night. A late evening float with some nice music and what seemed like the entire lake to ourselves…
Have a GREAT Labor Day!

Thanks Pete! We all need a long weekend!
By the way, I’m talking about Mr. – 👇🏻
“Peter J. McGuire, a carpenter and labor union leader, was the person who came up with the idea for Labor Day. He thought American workers should be honored with their own day. He proposed his idea to New York’s Central Labor Union early in 1882, and they thought the holiday was a good idea, too.”

We are closed this weekend. We are taking time off for the observance of Labor Day. A little time to enjoy with our family & friends. To celebrate with one another! We all need a rest from our labors sometimes. I’m going to take advantage of it! I hope you all do too 😊
See you next Tuesday 👍
Happy Labor Day Weekend!
“Time is not a river
Nor a ticking clock
Nor an hourglass
We cannot save time
We cannot spend time
We cannot borrow time
We cannot buy time
We cannot cheat time
Time is not a gift
Time is not our friend
Nor our enemy
Time is not on our side
Time is not ours in any sense
Save for the single second
That holds our full attention
Then slips forever beyond grasp”

Great show today! And, great to be back home! LOTS of calls today and LOTS of interest in the upcoming Moonlight Pond Tour, Saturday, September 22nd.!

There were several questions and texts about the Fall Gardening season too. When to start planting and what to plant. – It’s time! I will do a more detailed list of cool season veggies to plant ASAP! Get your soil amended and ready NOW!
And – When can I overseed my lawn with Fescue? NOW! Aerate, overseed & fertilize starting now. Remember – moisture is key, so if you don’t have an irrigation system, layout hoses and sprinklers to keep it watered during this time.
– Downtown Ricky Brown stopped in to say HI & brought us a box of donuts! Thanks Ricky!
– AND – Basketball great Tony Delk called in to talk about coming home & about helping young upcoming basketball players with his Tony Delk Basketball Academy – he’s coming today to Liberty High in Jackson to do that very thing. Thanks Tony!
We talked briefly about my recent trip to Chicago for CEU training & that turned into a Culinary discussion on all the great food in the Windy City! Italian Beef! Chicago Hotdogs! Chicago Style Pizza! BBQ! Pastries! And the list goes on!!!
The “Tomato Lady” Cindy Springer, called in to say HI & wished us all a Happy Labor Day!
A caller wanted to know how close to plant a fig tree to the house. I would choose a south facing wall then stay 6-8’ off the wall OR espalier the tree against the wall using proper techniques.
Have a Safe & Happy Labor Day Weekend!
