It was a thick fog this morning around the river. The temperature dropped into the lower 30’s and the water is still fairly warm… Makes for a Beautiful Foggy Morning! Especially as the sun ⛅️ burns slowly through the fog 🌫 Revealing a totally Bluebird Blue sky 🌌
These last couple of weeks have been close to perfect weather! Cool crisp mornings 🌞 warming up by mid morning to the 70’s… Not a cloud in the sky ❤️ The foliage is really starting to show now 🍁 Maples, sumac, dogwood, sassafras, gum… My advice is to get out and take a country ride every few days from now through late October/mid November. The color show is starting now in earnest and has a very short run…
“Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.”
~ Robert Frost
Have a beautiful Sunday!

Misty, foggy, overcast weather can be very relaxing, especially on a Sunday Morning… This morning has been fairly simple.
1st. I changed out my hummingbird feeders.

Then I fertilized the hanging baskets on my porch

then I decided to fix biscuits and gravy for breakfast 🍳

Y’all enjoy your day!
“One old wives’ tale says that every foggy day during August equates to a day of snowfall during the following winter. Some also use this tale in more general terms, meaning that if there is a lot of fog throughout the month of August, there will be a lot of snow throughout the upcoming winter.”

A thick bank of fog hung over the river, like it does many mornings. As the sun came up it slowly started to burn off. The smooth water, the coolness of the air, the smell of the river and the hum of the motor are about as sweet as it gets… All the senses are engaged… Talk about a feeling of Zen!
Enjoy the day!

It has rained on and off all week… I’m not complaining, just stating a fact. We were committed to getting out in the boat regardless last evening. And guess what, we did and it was Beautiful! Mist and fog on the water and coming down out of the hills, and not another soul in sight… Total silence… We had an amazing evening.

It was a foggy, misty evening on the river, but we had the whole thing to ourselves, so it was pretty special 😊
This morning was a solid fog bank so we stayed in for breakfast 🍳 But the sun is already breaking it up! It’s gonna be a beautiful day 🌞
“Slowly I walked out into the grey
As the dark of night gave way to day
Feeling encased in a world of my own
Yet knowing that I was never alone
The ghostly mist rolled down the hill
While all around was silent and still
No sound from the sheep as I went by
Not a single movement caught my eye
The grass prostrate, weighted with dew
As I enjoyed my solitude with you
Even the birds were still at rest
Yet to stir on the new days quest
How like us all, was this early morn
Each wrapped in our own misty dawn
Seldom thinking beyond our comfort zone
Like the rest of the world is still unknown
Strolling on, I watch the day unfold
Soft golden rays break through, behold
The birds sing out their songs of praise
He gives us sweet late summer days
Beyond the cloud is a bright blue sky
And beyond the blue is Our Lord on High
The mists will clear when you believe
And inner peace you can achieve“

I’m headed home from our annual convention in Chicago. I usually start the day with a sunrise on Sunday mornings, this morning I started the day with a thick, heavy fog. But I know the suns still up there shining 😊 On the road again & counting my blessings.
Have a Great Sunday!

I came out early to capture the sunrise over this Waterfall feature we all built a couple years ago. No sun shine today… Fog is this mornings story. Still a beautiful morning that the lord made! Have a great day!
“There’s always a story. It’s all stories, really. The sun coming up every day is a story. Everything’s got a story in it. Change the story, change the world”.
