This is a message from Bills daughter posted to Facebook this morning –

“At 6:52 am on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, daddy peacefully left us here on earth to be reunited with his mom and dad in Heaven. I know Cody, their beloved border collie, will be jumping with joy to see him again.

We will miss you more than you know, but the love you showed us throughout our lives here on earth will be forever in our hearts. We’ve made memories that will last a lifetime. We know just how proud you were of your kids and grandkids. We will continue to make you proud in the years to come.

We share a love of weather and always have. I will look for you in rainbows and, of course, thunderstorms since that’s what we love most. ❤️

I love you, daddy! I can’t wait to see you again.”

So much to do!

I need to make a list…
Start that fitness program (maybe wait till new years? 🤔)
Plan the Christmas party
Do all the Christmas shopping 🛍
Get wrapping paper
Finish all the Christmas decorations!
Christmas cards!
Finish up year end tasks

I’m trying to find my way back to the basics… What Christmas is all about!

With all the noise and the hustle and bustle of the season, the real reason we are taking time off and celebrating can get lost if we’re not careful.

I always feel a little magic when I watch this clip about what the meaning of Christmas is –

I for one am going to try to slow it down & enjoy the Christmas season. Maybe we can all find a little “Christmas Magic”! “It” – is what we all need 😊

Here we are, past Thanksgiving & “Black Friday” and Christmas is coming fast. BUT, Sometimes life steps in and slows things down for you & gives you something to truly reflect upon…

Last night I found out a great friend has been diagnosed with terminal cancer… This was completely out of the blue & a shock to all that know him. I am talking about local radio & TV man Bill Way.

Bills newest show is called ‘Medium Cool’, but we all know that Bill is the Coolest! I have spent every Friday with him the last 12+ years talking about Outdoor Living, Koi Ponds, Plants, Animals and so much more. He is a special person! Please say a prayer for Bill Way and his family.

Here’s an excerpt about Bill from the paper –

“We are sad to inform talk radio legend Bill Way has broadcast his final show, according to a Facebook post by his daughter Kristen.

She cited Nov. 16 as the day of his final show. Since then, he’s been diagnosed with a mass on his pancreas and spots on his liver.

Way has been released into hospice care after spending the past week at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

“While he isn’t in any pain, please pray for peace and comfort in the days ahead,” Mason said in her post.

Way had just returned to local radio waves with his new Bill Way Show “Medium Cool” on 93.1 WTJS-FM.

Bill Way is 74 years old.”

I hugged my family a little longer last night… Life is so fragile and can change on a dime. I definitely have a Lot to be Thankful for! And I have a Lot to reflect on too. Go hug the ones you love and spend time with them today. Time is all we have to share.

This is always a busy weekend! Cooking & then cleaning up from the ‘Big Dinner’, is a given… But my personal list of to-dos seems to grow every year 🤔

Take down and store Fall/Thanksgiving decorations with my wife. Then –
Fire up the smoker & put some meat on for later…
Get in the attic and carry the tree, decorations & other Christmas decor down & put together/set up.
Just a few Christmas trees from years past.
Plant 150 Daffodil bulbs.
The traditional time to plant Spring flowering bulbs is between Thanksgiving & Christmas.
Outdoor Christmas lighting (Not a lot)…
Trash duty.

Then dinner and a night out…

Wow! Looking at my list, this looks a bit ambitious 🤨 😂

I wanted to take a minute and wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! I’m already busy cooking and preparing my part in what will be a HUGE Thanksgiving spread for our family and friends and I am looking forward to seeing everyone and sitting down and catching up a bit. For our part of the meal I’m fixing a bourbon glazed ham, a smoked turkey breast & “twice baked, mashed potatoes! Jo stayed up late baking old fashioned pecan & French coconut pie’s, both my grandmas recipe 😉 Most everyone else is fixing a thing or two also (green beans, casseroles, rolls, cranberry’s, deviled eggs, dressing with giblet gravy, a big relish tray, more cakes and pies, etc…

Following the meal of course is Football, and naps with your belt unbuckled and the top button on yours pants loose, or just gone… I’m going to try to pace myself 😇

Like I said, have a LOT to be thankful for!!! Family, good friends, a warm home, a huge feast & so much more! Blessed!
