What a perfect day to discuss the scariest of all Koi – The Ghost Koi!

The Ghost koi has gained some popularity in the last few years, but many “Koi people” still do not recognize them as a true koi! – they are refereed to as Ghost carp instead.
The “Ghost Koi” is a product of breeding a mirror carp with a metallic Ogon Koi. For this reason many Koi purists don’t consider them a true “Koi”…
They are very hardy fish and much less susceptible to diseases. They also grow extremely fast! Both of these traits make them a great first Koi!
Ghost Koi don’t have a lot of markings like other Koi so their beauty comes from their shining metallic scales! Their colors can vary from dark to cream to silver and even golden. The head is generally creamy and the body colors will widely vary depending on the parents color.
I guess what I’m saying is, even though they have a scary name, & the fact that it is Halloween – Don’t be wary of the Ghost Koi! They are really pretty cool 🙂
Enjoy your Koi! AND – HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

They tell me that most of us get more conservative as we get older. It makes sense, we get married, have kids, we earn more $$ and have more to conserve! We also set up routines that we follow throughout our daily lives – exercise, eating, checking email, etc.. So I got to wondering if everyone across all boundaries followed suit?
Check this out! – A day in the life of Mike

The old “morning constitutional” – With all the daily chores ahead – this is a great time to do a little multitasking & check my email & texts!

I need a little “Me time” every now and again – nothing better than kicking off my shoes 👠 and enjoying a good show and a cold drink!
You might even think the monotonous life we all leed has tamed & subdued Mike to the point that homocide is just off the menu… ?
Happy Halloween y’all! 🎃

I had an enjoyable,in-depth conversation yesterday about Waterfalls & Design. I’m in the final design phase of a cool project with multiple Waterfeatures involved & as we went over the plans and sketchs on site we started getting in depth on how the different waterfalls would crash & turn & flow, etc… My client is really happy with the plans and ideas that we laid out and he gave the thumbs up to begin. Before we ever began his initial design he came by my office and looked at some of my work. We looked at many project photos & he and his wife even attended one of our Pond Tours. Yesterday he told me that I was a “Waterfall Master”…
They say it takes anywhere from 6-10 years to get great at something, depending on how often and how much you do it. And that it takes 10,000 + hours to master something, but I think it varies from person to person and depends on the skill and other factors.
Today is Wednesday ie; Hump Day – ie; Waterfall Wednesday 😊
I’ve collected quite a few pictures on my Pinterest page of Waterfalls, Water Gardens, Pondless Waterfalls, Ponds, etc. that we have designed and built over the last few decades – check some of em out today. A waterfall is a magical thing!
PS: I designed & my crew & I built all the features you see on my Pinterest pg. – https://www.pinterest.com/cartersnursery/
Thanks!
Have a great Waterfall Wednesday!

Did you know that Christmas is on a Tuesday this year? I didn’t either until the other day while running into a store for a quick purchase I had a lady say to me “Only 10 Tuesday’s left before Christmas”!
It seems to get earlier every year now… Blaring Christmas music in early October? Candy canes & sleighs 🛷…
I don’t know about you, but I’m going to carve a few more pumpkins 🎃 & go to a few more bonfires 🔥 before I start hanging Christmas stockings! Here’s to enjoying each season on its own merits 😊

Jeees! I haven’t even been to the Haunted Farm yet… Turn off jingle bells and let’s enjoy a happy Halloween or a Fall Fest…
ps: Only 9 Tuesday’s till Christmas 😂
