“As Per Tradition”, we, the “Distinguished Few” will meet at the “Big Pond”, at the Nursery & Take our Annual ‘Chilly Willy Plunge” exactly at sunrise, which is 6:41am. In the morning! Always a fun event! But, tomorrow mornings ‘CWP’ will be taken at a crisp, 27 degrees Fahrenheit… A record low temperature! Can you say shrinkage 🥶
Get here early! Sunrise is 6:41am! You will need time to park and walk to the ponds edge. As you know, only about 15 people at a time have room to get in the pond comfortably, the 1st group in will be “first come, first in”! So I would get here early if you want to be in the official photo, that will probably be on the cover of the soon to be published Photo Book about our unique, little group! 🍾
I will open the gates as early as possible so everyone can get a number and get in position. I recommend that you come dressed in your chosen ‘Plunge attire’, wearing a robe or heavy coat & water shoes or flip flops. Some have even worn Cover All’s that they unzip and step right out of.
REMEMBER – Bring your own towels! 2 or 3 of them!

What a BEAUTIFUL, Cold Sunday morning! Maybe it feels so cold because it has been in the sunny 70’s for a while now… The old saying rings true – “If you don’t like the weather, just wait a minute”… 😊 That’s the Good news – after Tuesday we are back in the 70’s & maybe even the 80’s! Bad news – FREEZE WARNING TONIGHT! 🥶 I gotta play musical chairs with my potted plants again…
My Grandma planted this flowering Almond many years ago. I had to sit down when I saw it blooming. Brings back memories of her ❤️ Stories I can share with my son too. I Love Old “Memory Plants”!

I LOVE before and after pictures of Landscapes. They are powerful! A simple idea can literally transform an area to something completely different. This one goes back a bit… 20 years or so. I came across these pictures while I was cleaning out some files and thought I would share them today. After all, it’s Thursday & everyone is posting throwback pics 😊

This area beacame their favorite spot in and around the house. I took this after picture around 20 years after the initial installation while I was there to speak to a local Garden Club about Water Features in the Landscape. Still such a beautiful spot to spend time.

I slept in this morning… Didn’t get up till 6! And it felt great! 😊 Yesterday was a FUN day of talking, visiting and cooking for everyone at our annual Spring Fest…. But it wore me out 😉 After we got it all cleaned up and settled in for the evening, I went to sleep in my chair around 8pm.! I asked Jo why she didn’t wake me up to go to bed, she said I was sleeping so good she hated to bother me 😊 PS: It WAS some good sleep! I want to say “Thank you” to everyone who came out yesterday to visit, say hi 👋, pet the animals, eat lunch and helped to make this annual event a success! Happy Spring to ALL!

Bring your whole family out to Carters Nursery and enjoy the animals with us at our 21st. Annual Spring Fest! | Carters Nursery, Pond & Patio| This Event is Free.
For the Adults – We will have several opportunities for you to learn all about Water Gardening and Aquatic Plants. You can get all the information you will need to Design, Build and Maintain a Beautiful Water Feature of your own. We will have a Maintenance Workshop to teach attendees how to clean and maintain a Water Garden
We have maintenance classes & a great Q&A for attendees! Everyone loves to learn more about their Water Features. Even the kids have fun.
Get here early to take part in the class. We are going to perform a full Pond Cleanout -We will show you how to properly catch and tank the fish, how to cut back and divide the aquatic plants, break down the filters, etc… During the class we will have an in depth Q & A – After this class you will know all about Proper Pond Care! Classes will start around 9am. and will go all the way through till 2pm.
We will discuss Aquatic Plants and how you can introduce more Aquatic Plants into your Waterscape AND your Landscape.
Mark will be cooking lunch at Carters Nursery, Pond & Patio’s ‘Outdoor Kitchen’! “I’m firing up the Saffire Grill & The big AOG Grill too. Y’all come on out and enjoy the day with us at our 21st. Annual Spring Fest.
“I’m fixing Hot Dogs and Smoked Sausage with ALL the fixings! We will also be firing up the Saffire Grill to cook some special things. We will have chips and cookies and more! This is my favorite part of the event because I get to grill & cook – & I am gonna cook up some good food for everyone that comes!”
