The daffodils 🌼 are blooming! The daffodils are blooming!

Everywhere I look I’m seeing Spring! 🌼 I feel a fog lifting off my brain this time of year. I guess it’s the seasonal depression of winter leaving 🥶 But no matter what it is, I Love it! I watched the sun come up this morning and the birds love it as well! 😊 So much activity!
Well, it’s time for breakfast 🥞 Then, I’m out for the day! Enjoy the coming Spring!
“I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o’er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.”
~ William Wordsworth

6 Things Koi Keepers Always Do In Their Ponds | Carters Nursery, Pond & Patio | Jackson, TN
1- Koi Keepers always keep a Debris Net handy! Murphy’s Law applies to your Pond! IF it can get in your Pond, it eventually will… So having a sturdy Debris Net handy, is a must!

2- Koi Keepers always add Beneficial Bacteria to their Ponds. It does a great job of helping you keep the water clean and healthy with minimal effort.

3- Koi Keepers always keep an eye on Aquatic Plant growth. They have learned that spending just a few minutes a week touching up their plants, makes them perform beautifully throughout the season!
4- Koi Keepers feed their “Finned Friends” top quality Koi Food! They make sure that their Koi Food is high quality and doesn’t have corn 🌽 in the top 3 ingredients.

5- Koi Keepers keep their Ponds clean! Spring and Fall Pond Maintenance is a MUST! They always start the Spring season with a comprehensive Pond Cleaning. Then they follow up with partial water changes as needed and Fall Pond Netting.
6- Koi Keepers spend quality time out by their Ponds with friends, family and of course, their Koi! They have learned that the Greatest Thing About Having A Pond, is spending time around it. They have learned that ‘A Pond will change your life!’

Thanks! Have a wonderful day 😊

Yes! March is the 1st Month of Spring 💐 It’s also the month we “Spring Forward”, which I actually love ❤️ because I like to stay outside in the evenings after work… I know there are no more hours or time in the day, BUT, it’s always so nice to have the evenings back! March 1st is the 60th day of the year… And now is when the Magic starts to happen! The Daffodils and many other early Spring bulbs start blooming, along with other harbingers of the season like the ‘Yellow Bell’ Forsythia, Quince, Oriental Magnolias and so many other native trees and shrubs… We are entering the most exciting time of the year!

There’s only one thing that Spring brings that I don’t like…

Oh well… Ya’ gotta take the good with the bad sometimes! 😊
Have a good one!

Have you stepped outside this morning? It’s almost hot! Immediately I was buzzed by several mosquitoes 🦟 What a difference a week makes! Tomorrow is March 1st! The 1st. month of Spring! Also the month we run the clocks forward… ‘Spring forward’ is the term I do believe, and that happens 2 weeks from today! 😳

Breakfast calls, then, who knows 😊
“The sun is brilliant in the sky but its warmth does not reach my face.
The breeze stirs the trees but leaves my hair unmoved.
The cooling rain will feed the grass but will not slake my thirst.
It is all inches away but further from me than my dreams.”
~ M. Romeo LaFlamme, The First of March
Enjoy your day!

Today is Johnny’s birthdate. This isn’t really a birthday kind of song, but it will speak to you and maybe haunt you a bit as well. It does me…

Today I got a cool Facebook memory of a Garden Show we did 9 or 10 years ago that really took me back. Back in the “Old Days” we would do 3-5 Spring Garden Shows every year. It was just the way things were done, and I loved it! I planned them very carefully, I worked up scale drawings, then hand picked plants and stone etc. etc. Just like it was a Project that would transform a real Landscape! But in reality, we would spend 4-5 days building it, 3 days manning the display booth & then 2-3 more days tearing it down and putting things back into inventory! WOW 😳 It was A LOT of investment and a LOT of work! But, we were able to shown people what we could do! And we won many awards for our efforts. Best of Show (many times). Best Waterfall, River of Dreams. Best Designer. Most Creative Design. Etc.

Now days you can look at my Facebook page, or my Pinterest page, or my Instagram page… Or come to my 7 acre Aquatic Garden Center with Pond’s and Waterfalls and Koi 😊 Most any day of the week!
So for Educating the Consumer, it’s much more Awesome! But, sometimes it’s nice to look back at how we used to do things and smile 😊

Here’s to cool Throwbacks. Sometimes progress is a good thing 😊
