Moment of Zen…

I personally love this short video. I was the only person on the beach as far as you can see, the water was warm and the waves were gentle. What a perfect sunrise! 🌞 I hope it brings a little Zen to your Monday!

Yes! Today is day 200 of 2018! There’s only 165 Days left in this calendar year… Which leaves only 158 Shopping Days before Christmas 🎄 😳 The Milestone for me? I have successfully turned out a Blog Post every day this year! Bam! … I don’t want to kick up my heels too high or break my arm pattin myself on the back 😊 BUT, I really feel a sense of accomplishment with what this Blog has turned into!

Wow! I’ve been blogging part time for some time now (10 years), but this year I decided to go to a Daily Blog… I can sum it up in one word! FUN!

Now that I have really gotten into the grove of writing everyday, the task has gotten to be FUN! I look forward to writing. I find myself scribbling down ideas for future blogs all the time. Sometimes while writing a blog, another idea jumps in my head and I find myself writing another and another… Videos and pictures have become more fun too 😊

Sunday Reflections…

I got up early this morning, watched the sunrise and bumed around the gardens a bit. It’s funny how plants and flowers can bring back memories. Strong memories of family. Good times & blessed memories. Living, blooming, perennial reminders.

“If you want to be reminded of the love of the Lord, just watch the sunrise.”
~ Jeannette Walls

“Gardeners , like everyone else, live second by second and minute by minute. What we see at one particular moment is then and there before us. But there is a second way of seeing. Seeing with the eye of memory, not the eye of our anatomy, calls up days and seasons past and years gone by.”

~ Allen Lacy, The Gardener’s Eye

Have a blessed day!

~ Mark

Sunday Reflections…

Such a beautiful sunrise this morning! I was thinking about the fact that this particular sunrise is starting the 2nd. Half of 2018… Yes that’s right- Today marks the halfway point of the year! WOW! Where does the time go? It keeps on moving no matter what we do or where our attention is focused. Time will pass us by if we’re not careful & there is no getting it back… I try to live in the present – Now is so very important! Now is the only thing that is real… Yesterday is gone… Tomorrow is no promise either!

I am going to try to keep that in the forefront through the 2nd half of 2018! To meet each day with an open heart and an empty cup (to be filled).

Watching the sunrise sets the tone for the day.

“Experiencing the present purely is being empty and hollow; you catch grace as a man fills his cup under a waterfall.”

~ Annie Dillard

Peace ✌

Sunday Reflections…

I was up late last night, first messing with lights in my Pond, then just enjoying the night air. It was such a beautiful evening and night. The air was cool and the mist was really starting to rise up off the water. So beautiful 🙂

But still, no matter what time I go to bed, my eyes pop open at 5 am. & I am up and at it 🙂 I think people who “sleep in” are missing out on the best part of the day…

“The difference between rising at 5 and 7 o’clock in the morning, for forty years, supposing a man to go to bed at the same hour at night, is nearly equivalent to the addition of ten years to a man’s life.”

~ Doddridge

“Whether I retire to bed early or late, I rise with the sun.”
– Thomas Jefferson

It’s a Beautiful Day! Enjoy yours 🙂
