Gone But Not Forgotten…

Last night we had one heck of a storm! Heavy rains flooded back roads & strong winds blew! Every Fall we get a storm like this, timed perfectly to blow all the leaves from the trees. Bill Way called it a “Leaf Stripper”. A friend mentioned this morning that we had one of his leaf strippers’ last night! Then I realized, today is the 1 year anniversary of Bills passing…

1 year ago today our friend Bill Way passed away from Pancreatic Cancer. May he Rest In Peace. Gone but not forgotten!

I’d like to think last nights ‘Leaf Stripper’ was old Bill blowing through. I still think of him often & miss his voice on the radio every day. Rest In Peace brother Bill! You are gone from this place, but you are not forgotten!

Prayers for Susan & his girls & all his family!

Bill loved waterfalls! I can only imagine the waterfalls he is seeing now. RIP

Rest In Peace Mark Asher!

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there.
I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn’s rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there.
I did not die.

Sunday Reflections…

Here we are, past Thanksgiving & “Black Friday” and Christmas is coming fast. BUT, Sometimes life steps in and slows things down for you & gives you something to truly reflect upon…

Last night I found out a great friend has been diagnosed with terminal cancer… This was completely out of the blue & a shock to all that know him. I am talking about local radio & TV man Bill Way.

Bills newest show is called ‘Medium Cool’, but we all know that Bill is the Coolest! I have spent every Friday with him the last 12+ years talking about Outdoor Living, Koi Ponds, Plants, Animals and so much more. He is a special person! Please say a prayer for Bill Way and his family.

Here’s an excerpt about Bill from the paper –

“We are sad to inform talk radio legend Bill Way has broadcast his final show, according to a Facebook post by his daughter Kristen.

She cited Nov. 16 as the day of his final show. Since then, he’s been diagnosed with a mass on his pancreas and spots on his liver.

Way has been released into hospice care after spending the past week at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

“While he isn’t in any pain, please pray for peace and comfort in the days ahead,” Mason said in her post.

Way had just returned to local radio waves with his new Bill Way Show “Medium Cool” on 93.1 WTJS-FM.

Bill Way is 74 years old.”

I hugged my family a little longer last night… Life is so fragile and can change on a dime.  I definitely have a Lot to be Thankful for! And I have a Lot to reflect on too. Go hug the ones you love and spend time with them today. Time is all we have to share.

– A Poem About Time

Time is slow, time is fast.
It never stops, but it always lasts.
It’s time for bed, it’s time for school.
To waste your time is to be a fool.

If the time is right, the timing will be perfect.
Having the time of your life will always be worth it.
Some spend their time mad,
Some spend their time sad.
For some people time is all they ever had.

Some spend their time and some people save it.
Some love wasting time and some people hate it.
People waste time being in jail
People waste time being mad when they fail.

Some people have lots of time to spare.
Others spend their time not having a care.
It’s time to stop, it’s time to go.
Time can move fast or it can move slow.

You can lose yourself or lose your mind,
But as life goes on you will never lose time.

Peace, ❤️ & Prayers for Bill Way & his family.

I love you Bill!

Come Run ‘The Varnick’ TODAY!

Today is the day! IF you haven’t registered yet, there is still time! Come on down and join in! Registration starts as early as 6:30am at Union University! More info below – Click on the link…

John Varnick was a Husband, Father, Friend and Warrior who inspired a community with his tenacious spirit and joyous heart while fighting cancer. The original run was planned within a 36 hour period to show our support for John in his fight and his dream to run his first half marathon. Highly successful and moving, John went on to complete another half at St Jude while undergoing chemo treatments in which he became a beacon of encouragement to the kids facing their own battles showing them you never give up and to embrace every day fully!
In February of 2016, we lost our brother but we will continue to honor him and tell his story to encourage others.
Along with the half marathon, we will also have a 1-mile fun run and a 5k for participants! Medals will be awarded to all finishers. NO placements will be given. It was his wish to have all runners cross the finish line with the focus being the journey and encouraging others! All proceeds from the event will go to The Foundation, and will help families who have been or are affected by cancer.
