Light rain falling this morning. Cool air. Last day of July… Lazy Sunday! We have been so busy and it has been so Hot and Dry… This rainy, cool day off feels like a blessing 🙏🏻

“A break in the heat
away from the front
no thunder, no lightning,
just rain, warm rain
falling near dusk
falling on eager ground
steaming blacktop
hungry plants
thirsty
turning toward the clouds
cooling, soothing rain
splashing in sudden puddles
catching in open screens
that certain smell
of summer rain.”
– Raymond A. Foss
Have a great ’Lazy Sunday’…

What a storm last night! the power went out around dark and shortly after a big storm hit ⛈ ⚡️ What a light show 😯 We were sleeping in a cabin with a tin roof… ie; We got some Good Sleep!

“Here in the deep tangled forest
All is quiet and still,
While far to the west the thunder,
Re-echoes from hill to hill.
And the lightning’s flash, ever vivid,
In great gashes knives the air;
The rain comes down in torrents,
A deluge everywhere!
Bathing the heat-sick flowers
That they may bloom once more;
Painting the grass a greener hue,
That grows by our cabin door;”

Enjoy this day ❤️

Hummingbirds are such unique creatures ❤️ They love the rain 🌧 I’ve been out since early, on my porch listening to the rain at first, then as the world lit up watching the Hummingbirds take turns feeding on sugar water nectar… I swept the porch off and even played my guitar for a little while.

Its gone down to a light sprinkle now & it feels so good, sounds so good, smells so good… I Love a rainy morning like this ❤️
“The best thing one can do when it’s raining is to let it rain.”
~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Have a wonderful Sunday

Have you stepped outside this morning? It’s almost hot! Immediately I was buzzed by several mosquitoes 🦟 What a difference a week makes! Tomorrow is March 1st! The 1st. month of Spring! Also the month we run the clocks forward… ‘Spring forward’ is the term I do believe, and that happens 2 weeks from today! 😳

Breakfast calls, then, who knows 😊
“The sun is brilliant in the sky but its warmth does not reach my face.
The breeze stirs the trees but leaves my hair unmoved.
The cooling rain will feed the grass but will not slake my thirst.
It is all inches away but further from me than my dreams.”
~ M. Romeo LaFlamme, The First of March
Enjoy your day!

Well, the weather outside is awful! Rain 🌧 Wind 💨 Muddy- NOT a good day to be in the garden! Ahhh, but all that will change soon & we need to be ready!
It won’t be long till we see the sun again!! And it won’t be long until we are out in the garden! It sometimes seems like the end of gloomy days isn’t in sight, but take heart – Spring is Coming!
Have a great weekend!

Rainy night followed by a rainy morning. I’ve been sipping coffee since early, thinking about the holidays and all the family we got to see and all the stuff we did. We are having one more late holiday get together with some out of town family and then it’s all about New Years!
Today is the last Sunday of the year! Last Sunday of the decade to be exact! It’s been a good year! Fast but good. I have started a list of goals for 2020. #1 in the list, spend more quality time with family and friends. The more I think about it, that’s a goal worth striving for.
Have a great Sunday with family and friends!
New Years is Coming!

Cool, rainy, stormy night. More of the same today… Wonderful time to catch up on some rest! April showers bring, you know what 🌺🌼🌻😊

I helped my Grandad transplant this azalea from an old home place over 30 years ago. Still blooms so beautifully in the Spring! It brightens a cloudy morning…
April Rain
The April rain, the April rain,
Comes slanting down in fitful showers,
Then from the furrow shoots the grain,
And banks are fledged with nestling flowers;
And in grey shaw and woodland bowers
The cuckoo through the April rain
Calls once again.
The April sun, the April sun,
Glints through the rain in fitful splendour,
And in grey shaw and woodland dun
The little leaves spring forth and tender
Their infant hands, yet weak and slender,
For warmth towards the April sun,
One after one.
And between shower and shine hath birth
The rainbow’s evanescent glory;
Heaven’s light that breaks on mists of earth!
Frail symbol of our human story,
It flowers through showers where, looming hoary,
The rain-clouds flash with April mirth,
Like Life on earth.
