Sunday Reflections…

Rainy Sunday morning. My wife rolled over and said “let’s just sleep in”… Perfect 👌🏻 Enjoy your Sunday 😊

Sometime a rainy morning is a good thing 😊

There will come soft rain and the smell of the ground,
And swallows circling with their shimmering sound;

And frogs in the pools singing at night,
And wild plum trees in tremulous white;

Robins will wear their feathery fire,
Whistling their whims on a low fence-wire;

And not one will know of the war, not one
Will care at last when it is done.

Not one would mind, neither bird nor tree,
If mankind perished utterly;

And Spring herself, when she woke at dawn
Would scarcely know that we were gone.

Sunday Reflections…

It’s been pretty hot as of late, 105-110 heat factors during the day. When you work out in the heat, you have to pace yourself. You start early and warm up with the day & drink plenty of water… Days like this teach you to enjoy the little things… A cooling  breeze can feel like heaven 😊 But nothing is as nice as a –

Summer Rain

“A break in the heat
away from the front
no thunder, no lightning,
just rain, warm rain
falling near dusk
falling on eager ground
steaming blacktop
hungry plants
thirsty
turning toward the clouds
cooling, soothing rain
splashing in sudden puddles
catching in open screens
that certain smell
of summer rain.”

Have a blessed Sunday.

What to do on a RAINY Cinco de Mayo | Carters Nursery, Pond & Patio | Jackson, TN

It’s PRIME TIME to be out in the garden right now, but alas, it’s gonna rain all day today… what to do? I just remembered it’s also May 5th. – AKA: Cinco de Mayo.

Cinco de Mayo is an annual celebration held on May 5. The date is observed to commemorate the Mexican Army’s difficult victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla, on May 5, 1862, under the leadership of General Ignacio Zaragoza.

So I guess we will take it slow today and visit with some Mexican friends & partake of some good food!

My favorite taco’s! Mahi Mahi at Casa Marina in Jackson, TN

Jo’s fav. – Chili Colorado 🙂

Then, grocery shopping and, hopefully, a nap 🙂 Gotta love a rain day 🙂

Sometimes a rainy day is a sweet thing 🙂 Enjoy yours! | Carters Nursery, Pond & Patio | Jackson, TN

Rainy Sunday’s aren’t a waste at all… The lazy rest we get to enjoy makes us ready for the sunny days ahead 🙂 The coming of Spring has everything ready to burst. I guess we all need a rainy day from time to time 🙂

Sometimes a rainy day is a welcome day of rest…

“A single gentle rain makes the grass many shades greener. So our prospects brighten on the influx of better thoughts. We should be blessed if we lived in the present always, and took advantage of every accident that befell us, like the grass which confesses the influence of the slightest dew that falls on it; and did not spend our time in atoning for the neglect of past opportunities, which we call doing our duty. We loiter in winter while it is already spring.”

~ Henry David Thoreau

I’m going to enjoy a nap. I hope you enjoy your “Lazy Sunday too”…
