Carter's Water Garden

Waterfall Wednesday | #Waterfallwednesday | Paris | Jackson, TN

“Waterfalls are my business and business is good!” Oh how I Love saying that 😊 It’s really a blessing when get to do something for a living that you really Love. And I Love ❤️ Waterfalls!
Waterfalls change everything… Seriously! I can’t think of any other Landscape feature that will transform and dramatically change an area like a Beautiful Waterfall! Take this photo and short video for instance. This Waterfall Fountain is in the foyer of one of the nicest restaurants in Paris! I know it’s a long distance from many, but if you’ve never been to Paris… Forget the Eiffel Tower… It’s worth it just to see this Waterfall! 🌊 and to taste the food!

When I walked into this entryway, I immediately stopped! A cool blast of air hits you and your bathed in the sound of this Water Feature! It set such a nice tone! I hear a bird chirping too! 🐦 Then they followed it up with excellent service and delicious food 🥘 🍲

I very rarely give a public review of local restaurants, but this was such a nice experience all the way around, I feel like they deserve a mention… So if your looking for a nice place in Paris, try …

Mousto’s in Paris, TN (expect a wait.) But it’s worth it😊

The Eiffel Towel (mini), The Riviera (tennessee), the savoir’ faire (southern)… Ahhhh, how I love Paris in the Summer!

I hope the clip of this Waterfall makes your day as well! There’s nothing like a Waterfall to set the mood 😊 Have a great afternoon…

Throwback Thursday | Memories | Looking Back | Looking Forward

#Throwbackthursday is always a look back at something special. A great job, or accomplishment, a great moment or a great memory. Today is no different 😊❤️

This one is 6 years to the day! Jacob, scout and I on a boat, watching the sunset 🌅 picking guitars. It don’t get much better than that…
Another great moment with my son. He got to meet and hang out a little bit with one of his musical idols – Paul Thorn. This was 3 years ago.

Looking back is Awesome! Especially with memories like this 😊 The road forward is exciting as well ❤️

Have a great Throwback Thursday!

Throwback Thursday | #throwbackthursday | Watch That 1st. Step! | Jackson, TN

I was going through some stuff and came across this old matchbook and Boom 💥 Flashback 💥 I swear I could hear the crack of the break and the smell of draft beer 🍺 I was taken back to Buddies Place on Liberty street… Talk about a Throwback Memory 🤩

I spent much of my young life at Buddies. My Dad and my Uncle Carlis were up there constantly. Shooting pool and visiting with friends. Cecil was someone I always looked up too from the time I was a little boy. Mrs. Mary that ran the bar during the day was a close family friend and I grew up with her grandsons. Ricky and Professor were also like family.

Cecil always used matchbooks as his business cards. I found this one today and it really took me back. How many of you also called Buddies a second home? Literally a place where everyone knew your name and you felt good about being there 😊

Most of the old Southern Pool Rooms are gone now… There will never be another Buddies!
If you ever went up those stairs, you know what this means! Great #throwbackthursday !

Buddies was even memorialized in a George Dickel Whiskey ad… I wasn’t working there anymore when they shot this ad, but I was there that day and watched them do it. It was pretty cool 😎 They brought in a few props and things for the shoot, and it really captured the feel of the old place.

It’s always nice to look back on good memories. Throwback Thursday is one of my favorite days!

Have a great evening!

Throwback Thursday

A timely throwback memory. My cousin Kim is in town for graduations and a few other things, so I pulled up a few old pics and made a little collage of Kim and family down through the years. Cousins are very special family! We are as close as siblings and even better friends than if we were brothers and sisters 😊

It’s so nice getting to spend some time with family that you grew up with. Lifelong memories ❤️

Here’s to #Throwbackthursday!

I’ve been counting down the days and hollering “Spring is Coming” from the rooftops! It’s felt like a long time coming, but Spring is finally here!

Ahhhh, Spring! Renewal. Resurgence. Resurrection.

Everything is waking up and flushing out again! How can you help but feel an awaking in this season ❤️ I Love Spring!

Today we sit in the center, with equal night and day. The Vernal/Spring Equinox.

Sunday Reflections…

Losing a loved one, someone who is truly close to you is tough. The loss and sadness are a hard reality… I just recently lost my Uncle. We were very close. I have had a lot of emotion over his sickness and his passing… But knowing him the way I do, he wouldn’t want us to be sad or down about his death. He was a very spiritual person. And a very positive person. He always had a smile on his face and something nice to say, maybe something to make you laugh or smile 😊 An ‘Eternal Optimist’! And that is what I am going to focus on and remember the most about Uncle Doug!

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am in a thousand winds that blow,
I am the softly falling snow.
I am the gentle showers of rain,
I am the fields of ripening grain.
I am in the morning hush,
I am in the graceful rush
Of beautiful birds in circling flight,
I am the starshine of the night.
I am in the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room.
I am in the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there. I do not die.

Does Anyone Love You More Than Your Dog?

All my memories as far back as I can recall, involve a dog. “Mans best friend” didn’t get to be their calling card for no reason! I really believe that Dogs make us better people…

Just look at that face. This is Tracker. She was a great girl.

Yesterday we all got out to do a few things in the snow and ice. Long story short, I twisted my ankle a bit… And Scout is stove up a bit today as well. But, when she saw me in pain, she crawled over to me this morning to let me know that she loved me. Your dog wants to take care of you more than their self… What an admirable trait.

Believe it or not, my dog loves watching the sunset. Maybe it’s because we are watching and paying the setting sun ☀️ attention, but he loves it too ❤️
Let’s play in the snow! ❄️
One of my favorite pictures! My Dad, my 1st dog Heidi & Me wearing my his hat and coat 😊
Always ready to have some fun.

Im gonna try to be more like my dogs from now on. I think if we all did, the world would be a better place😊

Saturday Night…

Saturday nights have changed a bit over the last year… A little less exciting… A little less, well, everything. Until tonight! We finally got to make up for a couple of cancelled vacations and more. We got to go to … Paris! 💥

Paris in the daylight is a sight to behold, but Paris at night 😘 pièce de résistance!

We even got to eat the most famous of all Parisian foods… Yep, catfish!

You may not have known this, but Paris is home to the Worlds BIGGEST Fish Fry! 💥

I hope your Saturday night was as exciting as mine!

Have a great evening 😊

Throwback Thursday

2021 is off to an interesting start… But today is #Throwbackthursday! Here’s a small collage of highlights from 2020. LOTS of good things happened in 2020 as well as all the crazy stuff!

2020 was an interesting year! And a year of many 1st’s. A very wise man told me that you get what you focus on! So I try to focus on the good 😊

Throwback Thursday is on! Enjoy your day. This one won’t come again…

Sunday Reflections…

We stayed up LATE last night, binge watching movies and eating Christmas goodies… I normally don’t sit up real late, so it was different & fun 🤩 Until this morning…

You ever sleep through the alarm 🚨 Late night = dog pile 😴 Let me sleep…

It’s been a Great Christmas season! But I think I’m ready for 2021… Now, for a shower 🚿

Have a great Sunday!
