What a beautiful morning! A quick, early walk this morning was perfect! Leaves are really showing color now 🍁 and many are falling in good number… Its about time for a good early Fall clean-up and burn 🔥 It really helps clear the way for later in the season.
Then its back in the house for breakfast 🥞 🍳 No brunch today! Too much to do and see outside on this gorgeous Fall Day! 🍁🍁🍁

Only 1 week from today is Halloween 🎃… Get out and look around before the show is over!
“October is the month for painted leaves. Their rich glow now flashes round the world. As fruits and leaves and the day itself acquire a bright tint just before they fall so the year near its setting. October is its sunset sky; November the later twilight.”

What a beautiful day! 86 degrees and sunny 🌞 It has apparently lit a fire under me because I just cant sit down… We have been decorating and cooking, Fall cleaning and slowly getting rid of Summer plants that just have to make way for Fall 🍁
Plus, its been a great weekend of Football 🏈 The TN Vols won and Alabama lost! 💥

Homemade fresh vegetable soup and cornbread is for dinner 🍲 Man I love a nice Fall day!
“A day like a day in summer.
Exceptionally still. The long shadows of the maples
nearly mauve on the gravel paths.
And in the evening, warmth. Night like a night in summer.”
~ Louise Gluck
Have a great evening!

Today has been like the rest of this entire week… Long and Beautiful! 🌞 Fall came in with cool temps and blue skies. We got out on the lake today to enjoy a little time off and to officially welcome in Fall.

Although I hate the Summer being behind us, Fall is always a beautiful, welcome season… Here’s to Fall!🍁🔥🏈
“Where are the songs of Spring? Ay, where are they?
Think not of them, thou hast thy music too, –
While barred clouds bloom the soft-dying day
And touch the stubble-plains with rosy hue;
Then in a wailful choir the small gnats mourn
Among the river sallows, borne aloft
Or sinking as the light wind lives or dies;
And full-grown lambs loud bleat from hilly bourn;
Hedge-crickets sing, and now with treble soft
The redbreast whistles from a garden-croft;
And gathering swallows twitter in the skies.”
~ John Keats

Well, we are into the 1st full day of Fall now & boy does it feel great! 46 degrees this morning! It really feels like we changed seasons 😊 The next big holiday around the corner is Halloween 🎃 which lead me right too this old throwback memory of Halloweens long ago…

I may wear this same getup for this years Halloween! How can a guy go wrong as a cowboy?! Do you think you could wear your 6 guns and holsters to a school function nowadays? 🤔 Me thinks not… But let me tell you one thing for certain! That boy you see in that picture there, would have for sure! I guess cowboys had more sway back then… Lets bring back Cowboys! 🤠🇺🇸
Heres to the spirit of Fall! Bon fires🔥 Football 🏈 Beautiful color 🍁 and dont forget Halloween! 🎃
Have a great #throwbackthursday!

After work yesterday, we got out on the water to see how the Fall color show was progressing. I Love ❤️ Fall 🍁 I am blessed to live in such a beautiful part of the world and I know it 😊 In a few shorts weeks we will be looking at Thanksgiving 🦃 And all the reds and oranges and golden color will be gone for the year… Get out and see it now because it won’t stay around long… Time flies by 💨
“Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.“
~ Robert Frost

Breakfast 🍳 is calling me…
Have a wonderful Sunday!

Windy, rainy days in early Fall make me so sleepy… I have hardly been able to keep my eyes 👀 open the last few days… 😴 I’ll be glad when the sun ☀️ pops back out!
On a positive note, the color change is happening now and it’s gonna be a beautiful show!

But pour us wine, an old one!
That we may turn this dreary day
To golden, yes, to golden!
Autumn has come, but never fear,
Wait but a little while yet,
Spring will be here, the skies will clear,
And fields stand deep in violets.
The heavenly blue of fresh new days
Oh, friend, you must employ them
Before they pass away. Be brave!
Enjoy them; oh, enjoy them!”
– Theodor Storm,
A Song in October
Now it’s back inside for breakfast 🥞
Have a great Sunday!

The leaves have been coming down like rain the last couple of days. It’s beautiful to watch. Add to that the 4 strait nights of freezing temps … November has made itself known 😊 Thanksgiving is coming!

The color is really changing in the landscape now. The Maples and Dogwoods are at peak. I try to keep my eye on the changing colors every Fall. It’s such a beautiful time of the year 🍁 But, blink and you’ll miss something. You just gotta get out there to enjoy it 😊
”In the garden, Autumn is, indeed the crowning glory of the year, bringing us the fruition of months of thought and care and toil. And at no season, safe perhaps in Daffodil time, do we get such superb colour effects as from August to November.”

We spent the entire day outside yesterday! The day started with a heavy fog, but the sun burned it off soon enough & we went riding in the country to enjoy the seasonal color. This is one of the most beautiful color shows I can remember. Maybe it was the late, warm weather this year, coupled with the plentiful rainfall that brought out the vivid colors? I’m not sure – But, in any case, the Fall Color this year is so beautiful! I hate to see it go… But, the seasons change & so must we. I’m going to enjoy the fall while it’s here & then I’ll set my mind to Winter & the Spring that follows won’t be far behind 😊
