Carter's Water Garden

Monday’s Moment Of Zen | Carters Nursery Pond & Patio | Jackson, TN

I worked on my own Gardens yesterday! It was such a beautiful day and thank goodness, with Jo and Jacobs help, we got it looking really good! We are back to feeding our Koi again as well, so I got that going for me 😊 When we went to clean this little Disappearing Fountain up, I was blown away by the lack of maintenance that it takes to keep this little Water Feature looking great! These few leaves in the water in the lower basin was really all there was to clean up after Winter. I just Love ❤️ this little Water Feature!

This is my offering for your Monday Moment of Zen. I hope you enjoy this beautiful day😊

Sent Memories | Carters Nursery, Pond & Patio | Jackson, Tennessee

Are you on Facebook? If not, you might find this interesting 🤔 If you are, then you know of what I speak… Everyday I get a picture that I personally posted, usually years ago, it just pops up in my home feed, it’s labeled as a “Facebook Memory” and it tells you exactly how many years ago that you originally posted it. Then you get to look back through the comments and likes, and if you want you can share it as a Story or to your feed and friends. At first, I didn’t know what to think about it, but I have grown to enjoy them and I usually share them again.

These pictures of our work that I have posted from years ago, just pop up as a “Facebook memory”… Actually pretty cool 😎 | Carters Nursery, Pond & Patio | Jackson, Tennessee

Today’s memory was 3 years old. A couple of days ago it was a 7 year memory that I had forgotten about…

What do YOU think 🤔 about the way social media like Facebook has changed our daily lives? How, if any, has it changed yours?

“Memories, brought to you by Facebook”…

Screenshot of what it looks like on your device. Do you look at these? Do you find it charming, or invasive? Just asking…

I have grown to think that it helps me share what I do. Our work at Carters Nursery, Pond & Patio is so visual! It’s hard to describe what we build so that you can form an accurate picture in your minds eye… So that picture you see, of what your backyard could actually look like, is worth a thousand words…

I’m writing this outside and it’s starting to rain  🌧 I hope you enjoyed it 😊

Have a Great Weekend!

Choosing A Qualified Contractor

As you know, I am a Landscape Designer/Contractor and I Specialize in the Design and Construction of Water Features, the most popular being; Water Gardens, Waterfalls, Streams, Eco-System Ponds, Pondless Waterfalls, Swimming Ponds, Koi Ponds, Basalt Column Fountains, Rain Water Harvesting Systems, Constructed Wetlands, etc…. Water Features are HOT and very much in demand now.
– As a matter of fact, Water features are the # 1 Landscape improvement that homeowners across the US are asking for! That comes strait from a USA Today poll that was taken across the country.

– Here is another statistic for you … Over 50% of professionally installed Water Features FAIL in the first year!

WOW! FIRST let me say – I am NOT trying to discourage you from installing your own ‘Little piece of Paradise’, BUT, I do want to give you the tools to help you make an informed decision about WHO you hire to Design and Create your Water Feature. My 20+ years of experience have taught me that people want and need to find the right Designer/Installer to work with in order to achieve success! So I have come up with a short list of Questions that will help you achieve SUCCESS with your new Water Feature!

Top 10 Question to Ask Your Potential Pond Installer

1. How much experience do they have? You don’t want someone learning on your dime! Hire a seasoned professional!

2. Have they received profession training and Certification? If not, you may want to look farther.

3. Do they have their own pond at home? I wouldn’t buy insurance from someone who wasn’t insured buy the same company! In the same way, if they don’t have a pond at home, they probably don’t LOVE what their doing and they probably don’t fully understand what it takes to live with a pond.

4. Do they offer references? ALWAYS ask for references from ANY contractor!

5. Can you view their display ponds or ponds installed for other customers? ALWAYS go look at some of their work!

6. Do they offer Maintenance Services ? Service is very important! And when you need it, you need it NOW…

7. Do they offer any educational seminars? Learning all you can about your new Water Feature is very important.

8. Where can you purchase supplies for your pond? You will need some supplies like fish food and pond Bacteria and Enzymes.

9. Do they participate in or know of any local Pond Tour? Pond Tours are a great way to learn about Water Features, and to ask questions of pond owners; Plus their AWESOME!

10. Is there a local pond club that you can join to network with other pond owners? A Pond Club is a GREAT way to learn about your Water Feature and a GREAT way to meet and make new friends!

When done right, your new Pond will be a source of enjoyment, relaxation and tranquility. Invest your money wisely! Know your pond installer’s reputation for QUALITY and SERVICE before you begin your project!

 – I hope these suggestions will help you achieve SUCCESS with your new Water Feature!
