The Fall color show is really starting to unfold 🍁🍂🍁 I LOVE the Fall Landscape… The color and texture of the sumac always gets it started. Then slowly but surely all the other native trees follow suit! My favorites are always the Dogwoods and Red maples, along with the sassafras, Black Gum, Hickory and Sugar Maples… Its just so beautiful 🤩 But the color fades, the leaves fall and many will find their way into your Pond.

There are several types of nets as you know – Leaf nets, Koi Nets, Skimmer Nets, etc… But a general purpose Pond ‘Dip’ Net is what I’m talking about! They are perfect for fishing those 2 or 3 leaves off the bottom of the pond. Or if you drop something in the pond and need to get it out – you’ll need a dip net to grab it. They are perfect for getting a piece of gravel out of the bottom of the skimmer too!

Inexpensive and invaluable! Add one to your Pond Tools. You won’t be sorry 😉
Have a great “Pond Tip Tuesday”!

Spring is in full swing! We are past our last frost date and the whole world is greening up, I LOVE it! So do my Koi! 😊 They have been tearing up the Cool Season Koi Food and the veggies I have been feeding them. In fact, many of my customers and fellow Koi enthusiasts have been feeding Cool Season Food & have asked me the all important question…
– When can I start feeding regular and Color Enhancing Koi Food?
– My Answer- Remember the rule of 60!

I have covered The Rule of 50 in previous Blogs, when coming out of Winter into Spring, you must let the water temp stabilize for at least a week at 50+ degrees Fahrenheit before you start to feed your koi. AND, when you do start back to feeding, you should use a quality, Cool Season Koi Food! And don’t over feed! Gradually reintroduce food to them in small amounts.
Now, at least for me (check your thermometer) it’s time to make the transition to a regular Koi Food. In fact, I will start to feed both high protein and color enhancing feed, alternating weekly between the two.

So to wrap it up, check your water temp & when your above 60 degrees for several days in a row and climbing, you can transition to warm season Koi Food. That’s the “Rule of 60”… 😉
Viva La’ Spring!

Fat Tuesday is upon us! It doesn’t mean as much to us in Tennessee as it does to the folks down along the gulf, But if you live in Mobile or Fairhope or New Orleans or almost any town in those areas, it means an all day Party is at hand! Fat Tuesday translated from French means “Mardi Gras”!

Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday, a time for fasting and giving things up – BUT, not today! Today is a PARTY! Everyone eating & drinking & dancing & saying “laissez les bon temps rouler”! Which means – “let the good times roll.”
Now it seems everyone celebrates Mardi Gras, we even have a parade and celebration here in little Old Jackson, TN! 😊
My advice, have Fun! And, pace yourself! And no matter what you do, don’t eat too much King Cake! 😂
Have a great Mardi Gras!

It’s COLD! Even colder tonight, and tomorrow, forget about it! Highs in the 20’s… So we’ve been going through our albums… Reorganizing, by band, by release date, alphabetically… Yea, I know… But I do Love listening to music! I saved a couple of songs out just perfect for a cold, wintry Tuesday!

Their first & maybe, their best… I’ve got the cassette, the CD, & the Album-dont know where that 8 track got off too 😊 The sound of the Vinal is still the best!
A great day to listen to music 😊
Stay Warm!

26 degrees this morning! And it’s forcasted to go into the teens in a few days with a possibility of snow 😳 We always get our snow and ice in January… So today I thought a little visual of what’s to come was in order!
Here are a couple of nice shots 👀 to remind you of what’s around the corner – A “Twofer” for your Tuesday 😊

The Beauty and Sound of a Waterfall is an Awesome thing! I hope this glimpse of Spring warms you up at least a little bit 😊
