Happy Veteran’s Day! God Bless America! 🇺🇸

Happy Veteran’s Day! 🇺🇸

Thanks to ALL who served! 🇺🇸

Originally called Armistice Day because November 11th. was the day they signed the Armistice that put an end to WWI. Back then it only honored those who died in war. In 1954 the day became Veterans Day & now honors all who have served. So let’s all thank a veteran today! Without all their hard work & sacrifice, we wouldn’t have the privileges & freedoms that we enjoy today.

🇺🇸

“The willingness with which our young people are likely to serve in any war, no matter how justified, shall be directly proportional to how they perceive the Veterans of earlier wars were treated and appreciated by their nation.”

Thank You to ALL Who Served!

God Bless America! 🇺🇸

Sunday Reflections…

Tomorrow is Veterans Day, a special day where ALL men & women, soldiers & sailors who have served and are serving, are honored for their service. We had our parade yesterday in downtown Jackson & there will be more today and all day tomorrow!
Thank You! To all who have worked to keep our country strong and Free! God Bless America! 🇺🇸

A BIG Thank You and Salute to ALL the Veterans out there that make it happen on a daily basis!

“A veteran is someone who, at one point in his/her life wrote a blank check made payable to ‘The United States of America’ for an amount of ‘up to and including my life.’ That Is Honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it.”

~ Unknown

Have a great day! Thank a Veteran!

D-Day’s 75th Anniversary | God Bless America

The Normandy landing operations took place on this date, on Tuesday, 6 June 1944 of the Allied invasion of Normandy in Operation Overlord during World War II. Codenamed Operation Neptune and often referred to as D-Day, it was the largest seaborne invasion in history.

The determination & bravery of the men that took those beaches was unparalleled! Their victory laid the foundation that won the war.

I grew up on my granddads stories of the war & I always remembered Omaha Beach, the beach where he and his group landed. ‘Omaha Red’ he called it, he said the blood that was spilled there gave it that name – So much blood that the beach, the water, everything was Red!

This is one of the only pictures I have of my grandfather in uniform (center standing with his hand on his rifle sling). This was from a unit photo before they deployed. He made it through the war and back home. A highly decorated hero. A great man & role model.

June 6th is also a special day for my Mom 😊 It’s Her Birthday 🎂 My grandad always said he knew exactly where he was on that day in 1944…

Its been 75 years & we are still reaping the benefits from these men & women’s sacrifices. I thank God for our freedom & for the work & sacrifice that it took to make it so. We can never forget that Freedom isn’t Free!

God Bless America!

Ps: If you are lucky enough to still have a WW2 veteran around you, go see them today & hug their neck and thank them for their service.

Memorial Day | Freedom ain’t Free…

I was sitting in my boat at the marina yesterday and I got into a conversation with a fellow in the next slip. I had never met him before, but it was like we were old friends. He told me about his uncle who went off to Vietnam when he was 18 years old. He was killed in action after 4 months and they sent his body back home. As he was telling the story his voice broke a bit & I think he started to tear up… He had followed him around as a young boy and his uncle was his childhood hero, lost to a war that he didn’t understand. He said ‘That is what Memorial Day is all about’! Paying respect to the good people who paid the ultimate price for our freedom! The real hero’s, who ‘Gave All’… We can never forget their sacrifice.

Have a Happy Memorial Day! God Bless America!

Sunday Reflections…

I’m sitting here this morning just like many of you, smelling the bacon fry, sipping my coffee, warm and happy with all the freedom in the world…  But the age old saying rings true “Freedom is never free!”

Say “Thank you for your service” to a veteran today.

Today is Veterans Day! A day set aside every year on November 11th. to honor the service & sacrifices of American Military Veterans. We are standing on some mighty tall shoulders! Thank a Veteran today for their service! Without the sacrifices of our military men and women, we would have nothing! We owe them a mighty debt, indeed!

Happy Veterans Day! God Bless our military men & women! And God Bless America!
