Happy Labor Day to ALL! This was my zen last night. A late evening float with some nice music and what seemed like the entire lake to ourselves…

Have a GREAT Labor Day!

Sunday Reflections…

What a beautiful morning! The reward for a long week of playing catch up… the water is smooth, the wind is light and breakfast at the Marina calls… This is heaven for these dogs… They deserve it As well 😊

It’s nice to have the whole bunch out on the River on a Sunday Morning! To the dogs it means one thing – Bacon 🥓

Y’all have a Great Sunday!!

“When the Man waked up he said, ‘What is Wild Dog doing here?’ And the Woman said, ‘His name is not Wild Dog any more, but the First Friend, because he will be our friend for always and always and always.”

– Rudyard Kipling

Sunday Reflections…

Most travel plans have been put on hold, as I’m sure you are well aware… So for our Anniversary trip, we decided to do it by Boat 🚣‍♀️ Talk about social distancing! Tanning, reading, jamming music, taking photos, and just cruising the boat. Only stopping to take dip or refuel at an available marina.

What a wonderful way to celebrate an anniversary!

We taken many a road trip as well, but there’s nothing like just floating around on the river for a few days!

“Dark brown is the river.
  Golden is the sand.
It flows along for ever,
  With trees on either hand.

Green leaves a-floating,
  Castles of the foam,
Boats of mine a-boating—
  Where will all come home?

On goes the river
  And out past the mill,
Away down the valley,
  Away down the hill.

Away down the river,
  A hundred miles or more,
Other little children
  Shall bring my boats ashore.”

   ~ Robert Louis Stevenson

Sunday Reflections…

What a beautiful morning! The weather went from HOT to perfect 👌🏼 just like that. We spent last evening on the water watching the wildlife and waiting for the sunset. It was an evening well spent …

Such a peaceful evening as we float and watch the sun disappear into the horizon.

The river sleeps beneath the sky,
And clasps the shadows to its breast;
The crescent moon shines dim on high;
And in the lately radiant west
The gold is fading into gray.
Now stills the lark his festive lay,
And mourns with me the dying day.

   ~ Paul Laurence Dunbar

Have a great Sunday!

Sunday Reflections…

What a beautiful morning! The river is smooth as glass and it feels so good outside 😊 Sunday morning with my family, on the river, at the marina for breakfast is always a Great Day! ❤️

The dogs know what Sunday morning means… BACON 🥓💥

This is the final leg of Jo & I’s 26th Anniversary celebration 😊 We had to include Jacob and the pups to really celebrate! What better way than a day on the river 😊

“That beautiful season the Summer!
Filled was the air with a dreamy and magical light;
and the landscape
Lay as if new created in all the freshness of childhood.”
~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Have a great Sunday!

Sunday Reflections…

Stormy morning on the river. It limits what you can do, but it’s so nice in another way… The sound of the rain & thunder and the smell of the fresh air is wonderful! I’m gonna take what the good lord gives me and be thankful 😊

A quiet, rainy morning on the river is a magical thing 😊

“The river and the garden have been the foundations of my economy here. Of the two I have liked the river best. It is wonderful to have the duty of being on the river the first and last thing every day. I have loved it even in the rain. Sometimes I have loved it most in the rain.“

  ~ Wendell Berry

Have a great Sunday!

Sunday Reflections…

Yesterday afternoon we went up to the river to look around at the flood. Many of the worst hit areas still aren’t accessible at all… But from what I saw, many have lost everything! Historic floods = Disaster!

Floods have devastated many areas up and down the TN River.

Below is a prayer I saw online about the flood and the flood victims. Our hopes and prayers are with the folks affected all up and down the river 🙏🏻

“Lord I pray your hand of safety and guidance upon all the victims of the regions under flood conditions. Bless these people Lord and keep them safe. Do not let the flood waters steal their lives. Drive back the floods to protect their homes and their precious animals”.

~ Amen 🙏🏻

The water has finally crested & will start to slowly recede now.

Have a blessed day,
