This young man was having all kinds of fun 😊

Thats what its all about! Getting outside and having an enjoyable evening most any season of the year! That is one of the things I always try to achive with my designs, I try to design Gardens that have year round interest!

So, I hope you have been enjoying this beautiful Fall weather we have had… And I hope you enjoy this little glimpse of my Water Garden on a Moonlit šŸŒ Indian Summer night in Autumn šŸ

Father’s Day is Coming!

In just a little over 2 days, Father’s Day is gonna happen. Are you prepared?

I’m more of a Dad than a Father… At least I’d like to think so. ā€œDadā€ is a little less formal… I know a few Pops’ and a couple ā€œOld Mansā€ and quite a few Daddy’s too 😊 I know I’ve got a great dad! When I think of my Dad many words come to mind… Dad, Pop, Role Model, Teacher, Leader, Provider… more!

That’s my dad.He made a living running into burning buildings, saving lives and educating others on better ways… Best Dad Award WinneršŸ’„

So Sunday is the Big Day! What do you have planned for Your Dad? Better get cracking’!

Today Is The 50th. Anniversary Of Earth Day šŸŒ

Today is Earth Day! What is Earth Day you ask… Here’s the official definition – “Earth Day is an annual event celebrated around the world on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First celebrated in 1970, it now includes events coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network in more than 193 countries.”Ā

Like most public things right now, Earth Day celebrations have been cancelled for public gatherings… BUT, you can personally celebrate by doing something “Earth Friendly” like –Ā

  • Plant a tree (Native please)
  • Plant some flowers (Pollinators)
  • Start seperating & recycling trash
  • Start a compost pile for organic compost
  • Talk to your kids about responsible conservationĀ  Ā

The first Earth Day was held on April 22, 1970, with the goal of raising awareness about mankind’s role in protecting our natural world.

We are going to plant a tree on our property today with our son inĀ  honor of Earth Day! I hope you can get out and enjoy our beautiful world today as well!Ā

Throwback Thursday | Carters Nursery, Pond & Patio | Jackson, Tennessee

My son recently turned 18. LOTS of memories and emotions have been bubbling up 😭 one thing that I keep finding is pictures of him in and around the ponds & waterfalls. He simply LOVES them! So this one is my offering for Throwback Thursday.

Jacob has loved Koi and ponds since birth I think 😊 This was taken at the dedication to this teaching pond at a local school 16 or so years ago. This picture ended up on the ā€œPonds for Kidsā€ booklet that promotes Ponds in schools. #Throwbackthursday

He was 2 in this picture 😊 This ā€œTeaching Pondā€ is still being used to inspire and teach youngsters about science, ecology & even art. A BIG shoutout to the great educators that were and still are responsible for this school pond happening! Steve, Elizabeth & Christine – Y’all Rock! Keep up the good work!

Have a great #throwbackthursday!

9/11/2001… Never Forget! God Bless America šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø

A Heavy blow was struck against us all that day.

• 2,977 Americans were Murdered!

• 343 Firefighters died saving others! Many that survived are dying from cancer now at an alarming rate! Thank a Firefighter today…

We survived! We united! We rebuilt!

God Bless America! #neverforget

Its been 18 years now. My wife was pregnant with our son when it happened. He is 17 now and a senior in high school. Many in his class don’t know much of anything about what happened on 9/11! Watch the memorials with them today. Tell them what happened that day & how it made you feel! We owe it to our fallen brothers and sisters to Never Forget! #neverforget !

I still remember this like it was yesterday! My wife was pregnant at work when the towers were struck. Everyone was scared to death of what was next. So many died that day 😢 We can #neverforget

I’m going to hug my wife and my son a little harder today! We are going to talk and discuss what happened and why.

God Bless You All! & God Bless America! šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø

PS: Here’s a link to local coverage of 9/11 that morning by my old friend Bill Way. If you want a Live account of that day, listen to this… http://billwayshow.libsyn.com/the-91101-show#OoeJIyV0leTqC9Mf.01
