Last night was interesting to say the least.. We have a new puppy in the house 🐶 You forget just how involved it is. They have such incredible energy! Having to take them out to walk, clean up after their accidents, watch where you step and what you leave down… Etc. Then, at bedtime, the whining and barking is non stop for a while. Then there’s the late night walks, more water, more play, more whining… Wow! Energy without bounds.

Then, just when you think it might have been a mistake, that it’s gonna be so much work and effort… she crawls up on you and goes to sleep in your lap… Thats when you realize that Love is a four legged word 🐶❤️ You’ve got a new family member, a new baby… and the whining stops when you let her sleep beside you in the bed 🛌

When you live at a Nursery, there are still many things to do on a Sunday morning. Check the Greenhouses, water plants, etc… This morning there was a little storm cleanup, and we had to check all the Fountains and Ponds for debris in the skimmers and the like (Bad wind and storms last night). But I love it 😊 Walking into a warm greenhouse, the smell of the plants and the beauty of all the plants, Heaven! I’m still sitting in the greenhouse as I type this ❤️ The north wind is blowing outside today… But in here, it’s a Sunny, Warm Spring day!
You might not have a greenhouse, but I hope you get out and enjoy this beautiful day!
“I like to think of people as a greenhouse
We are only a short moment in history
We can be radiant and beautiful
We can diffuse bliss and contentment
We can show the world that there is more to it
Some of us are short-lived gardens
We forget to water ourselves
Forget that we need sunshine to live
We forget that most on our rainy days
When clouds swarm our four walls
And the light of day does not touch us like it used to
Our flowers droop, fall, and die
We are only plants that require attention
Living objects that some pick up and some only marvel at
We are unique and earmarked
We are not the same
But each of us are fascinating in our own way
Do not forget to take care of yourself
You have so much more to yourself
Than the desolation you feel”

Spring is finally here and I am thankful 🙏🏻
I admit there is a lot to love about all the individual seasons… But Spring is #1 to me!

I’m going to keep it short this morning. Mainly because I want to get outside … It’s a beautiful, sunny, 65 degree Spring day and I don’t want to miss a second of it 😊

I think I saw my first hummingbird yesterday?! It was a flash out of the corner of my eye 👁 but I know that flash pretty well. I went right up and put out a fresh feeder…

I hope you enjoy this beautiful Spring morning as much as I am 😊
Have a great Sunday!

Have you stepped outside this morning? It’s almost hot! Immediately I was buzzed by several mosquitoes 🦟 What a difference a week makes! Tomorrow is March 1st! The 1st. month of Spring! Also the month we run the clocks forward… ‘Spring forward’ is the term I do believe, and that happens 2 weeks from today! 😳

Breakfast calls, then, who knows 😊
“The sun is brilliant in the sky but its warmth does not reach my face.
The breeze stirs the trees but leaves my hair unmoved.
The cooling rain will feed the grass but will not slake my thirst.
It is all inches away but further from me than my dreams.”
~ M. Romeo LaFlamme, The First of March
Enjoy your day!

Well I got up this morning to a still cold, mostly white, snow covered world. But today the wind is out of the south and the temperature is getting up above 50 today, so I expect to see some grass and bare areas before the day is out. It’s been over a week of being mainly trapped in the house, below zero wind chills, frozen pipes, BAD roads, Storm damage, etc… I feel ready for Spring…

In another way, its been so beautiful… We have gotten to spend some quality time together and I will miss that part of being trapped inside together 😊 I haven’t watched the news or read the paper or even payed attention to the outside world…
But, the snow is melting… This week is warming up, we will be in the 60’s by midweek! Which will bring a whole different experience that we may not be ready for either…

“There’s a patch of old snow in a corner
That I should have guessed
Was a blow-away paper the rain
Had brought to rest.
It is speckled with grime as if
Small print overspread it,
The news of a day I’ve forgotten —
If I ever read it.”
~ Robert Frost
Have a Blessed Sunday! 🙏🏻

This year already seems to be in high gear 🏎 tomorrow is February 1st! Wow 😳 That means Tuesday is Groundhog Day… The halfway point till official Spring ☘️ I don’t know if it was the restrictions of last year, but I already have the worst case of “Spring Fever” that I remember!

”It’s spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you’ve got it, you want—oh, you don’t quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!
~ Mark Twain

I’ve been trying to get my house and garden in order for the upcoming Spring season. Many think there isn’t much to do outside this time of year, but for a professional gardener, the chores are never done… In my reality, there are only a few football 🏈 games left before the Spring season really gets started!

“The shortest day has passed, and whatever nastiness of weather we may look forward to in January and February, at least we notice that the days are getting longer. Minute by minute they lengthen out. It takes some weeks before we become aware of the change. It is imperceptible even as the growth of a child, as you watch it day by day, until the moment comes when with a start of delighted surprise we realize that we can stay out of doors in a
twilight lasting for another quarter of a precious hour.”
~ Vita Sackville-West
Enjoy your day!

Just a couple more weekends of football will take us into February, then we will start to notice the signs… swelling buds, emerging tips of spring foliage & the crappie will be biting in earnest! I don’t know about you, but I’m already ready for Spring!

Shoots are thrusting through the cold earth, ‘Tho the wind is in the north;Look! The snowdrop, crocus, scilla Struggle, bravely, to come forth!
Soon each fragile, gentle, blossom Will appear, to cheer each way,Hearts will gladden at their promise,Of clear, fresh, sunlit, springtime days!

It’s already starting out to be a very… Interesting 2021. Thank the Lord for Sunday!
We started out with breakfast 🥞 🍳 or should I say Brunch…

Now, it’s on to Football 🏈 Go Titans!

Enjoy your day off! My advice for the future is to turn off the TV 📺 and all other news sources. Your mental health will skyrocket! 😊
