Sunday Reflections…

What a beautiful morning! The river is smooth as glass and it feels so good outside 😊 Sunday morning with my family, on the river, at the marina for breakfast is always a Great Day! ❤️

The dogs know what Sunday morning means… BACON 🥓💥

This is the final leg of Jo & I’s 26th Anniversary celebration 😊 We had to include Jacob and the pups to really celebrate! What better way than a day on the river 😊

“That beautiful season the Summer!
Filled was the air with a dreamy and magical light;
and the landscape
Lay as if new created in all the freshness of childhood.”
~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Have a great Sunday!

Sunday Reflections…

Man has it been HOT! Summer time in Tennessee! The key to survival is getting out there early… Warm up with the day 🌞

Even this family of frogs know to get up and out with the Sunrise 🌞

Just living is not enough … one must have sunshine, freedom, and a little flower.

~ Hans Christian Anderson

I’m off to fix breakfast now 😊 One of my favorite Sunday Morning rituals…

Have a Great Day!

Sunday Reflections…

Thinking about the Awesome power of Nature this morning. Hurricane Barry has come ashore and is flooding from the Gulf Coast to points north… Including our area in Tennessee over the next couple days. Batten down the hatches!

Prayers for the people in the path of this Hurricane.

There is no way to stop or reason with a Hurricane… But if anyone could, it would be Jimmy B. 😊 This is one of my favorites off A1A…

Have a blessed week 🙏🏻 And stay dry 💦🌂

Sunday Reflections…

Stormy morning on the river. It limits what you can do, but it’s so nice in another way… The sound of the rain & thunder and the smell of the fresh air is wonderful! I’m gonna take what the good lord gives me and be thankful 😊

A quiet, rainy morning on the river is a magical thing 😊

“The river and the garden have been the foundations of my economy here. Of the two I have liked the river best. It is wonderful to have the duty of being on the river the first and last thing every day. I have loved it even in the rain. Sometimes I have loved it most in the rain.“

  ~ Wendell Berry

Have a great Sunday!

Sunday Reflections…

What a beautiful night we had last evening. We had our Luau party and the weather was just perfect 😊 So many wonderful people came and enjoyed a beautiful June evening in our Garden. The music was Awesome and the food was Great!

From prepping the food to greeting guest yesterday was filled with fun! The neatest reactions came from some of the kids😊 Kids LOVE nature!

Summer is just starting! But it will be gone in the blink of an eye 👁… I hope you can get out and enjoy the Summer season. In fact, let’s all make a point to do just that😊 Times flying by…

“Mine is the Month of Roses; yes, and mine
The Month of Marriages! All pleasant sights
And scents, the fragrance of the blossoming vine,
The foliage of the valleys and the heights.
Mine are the longest days, the loveliest nights;
The mower’s scythe makes music to my ear;
I am the mother of all dear delights;
I am the fairest daughter of the year.”

~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Have a GREAT Sunday!

Sunday Reflections… | Fathers Day Milestones | 50th. Anniversary of Being a DAD!

I have been looking for a 50th Anniversary card for Dads… Couldn’t find one! No calendar either… I don’t want to let a 50th for my Dad go by without a little recognition! Let me explain…

I have been a dad now for 17 years, my son is 17 years old- I am 50 which means my dad has been at it for half a century! WOW! It’s a very surreal thing! I can literally see that history repeats itself now 😊 Sometimes the things that come out of my mouth, instantaneously pop into my memory & I can see and hear my own Dad saying the exact same thing to me 30 or 40 years ago 😮 Surreal!

I Thank God that I have had this opportunity to have my Father (worlds Best Dad) & my own Son (worlds Best Son) right by my side all these years! It’s a blessing and a pleasure that I can’t truly put into words.

That’s my Dad on the right. And that’s my Son 2nd from the left in the black hat. We are going out to lunch later today to celebrate Fathers Day.

Happy 50th Fathers Day to my Dad! And, Happy Fathers Day to all the Dads out there today!

One of my favorite pictures! My Dad, my 1st dog Heidi & Me wearing my Dads hat and coat 😊

“By the time a man realizes that maybe his father was right, he usually has a son who thinks he’s wrong.”

~ Charles Wadsworth

PS: A prayer for those who’s fathers have passed today. Remember the good times.

Sunday Reflections…

Do you ever get so immersed in something, that time just disappears. This morning I grabbed my guitar 🎸 and sat down on the porch to watch the sky light up & started picking around on it, the next thing I knew, it was 8am… 2 1/2-3 hours were gone 🤔 It felt like 5 minutes… Where does that time go? And wouldn’t it be Awesome if we could go there on command… 😮

I found a moment of zen that last 3 hours…

“Do not speak to us of the greatness of poetry,
Of the torches wisping in the underground,

Of the structure of vaults upon a point of light.
There are no shadows in our sun,

Day is desire and night is sleep.
There are no shadows anywhere.

The earth, for us, is flat and bare.
There are no shadows. Poetry

Exceeding music must take the place
Of empty heaven and its hymns,

Ourselves in poetry must take their place,
Even in the chattering of your guitar.”

  ~ Wallace Stevens

Have a great Sunday!
