I was thinking/reflecting this morning while I sipped my coffee about the passage of time and the seasons. As winter slowly moves into spring, it feels like warmer weather will never arrive. Then boom 💥 it’s June again… Time is so funny! I guess the old wisdom holds true, time is fleeting… The only real time is Now!

“This is June, the month of grass and leaves . . . already the aspens are trembling again, and a new summer is offered me. I feel a little fluttered in my thoughts, as if I might be too late. Each season is but an infinitesimal point. It no sooner comes than it is gone. It has no duration. It simply gives a tone and hue to my thought. Each annual phenomena is reminiscence and prompting. Our thoughts and sentiments answer to the revolution of the seasons, as two cog-wheels fit into each other. We are conversant with only one point of contact at a time, from which we receive a prompting and impulse and instantly pass to a new season or point of contact. A year is made up of a certain series and number of sensations and thoughts which have their language in nature. Now I am ice, now I am sorrel. Each experience reduces itself to a mood of the mind.”
– Henry David Thoreau, Journal, June 6, 1857
Enjoy the day!

Time flies when your having Fun! And this year has been a good one! We have enjoyed a beautiful, lush Spring season! Perfect in so many ways 😊 Now, we move into Summer & for the last 21 years that has meant 1 thing… Pond Tour Time! 💥

Our annual Summer Pond Tour is always the Saturday after Fathers Day! Saturday, June 22nd is the day! Get your tickets Today!
Friday is the 1st official day of Summer, the Summer Solstice! The Summer Pond Tour is our 1st Event of Summer and we just love it! Check out our video for more details –
We have an after party for all the attendees & home owners at the Nursery. It’s called the ‘Moonlight Luau” & if you purchased a ticket YOU are invited!

We open the gates back up at 8pm and the Moonlight Luau is on! Wear your best “Luau Attire” The Best will receive prizes 😊| Carters Nursery, Pond & Patio | Jackson, TN
The Biggest question I have been getting by far is, what’s up with the Luau… Whats it like? What should I wear? Etc… SO, I put together a little primer of sorts… A set of tips to help with communications and etiquette… So, here is a little list for ya’!
#1 – Smile and have a good time 😊 Your in a Garden with music, good food and Wonderful People! And you all just raised money that will help many, many Pets! THANK YOU ALL! Much Respect!
#2 – Dress comfortably & with a “Luau Flair” if possible 😊(see rule #1 – have fun).
#3 – For FUN, let’s try to use the words “Aloha” and “Mahalo”. These are both really special Hawaiian 🌺words and they will both apply tonight.
“Aloha” means many things, but it mostly means Hello and Goodbye 😊
“Mahalo” means Thank You! 🌺
#4 – It’s Good Luck to take your shoes off in the sand, so feel free to venture out on to “Carter Country Beach” 😊
#5 – Appreciate and Enjoy A Lei – At a real Hawaiian 🌺Luau, if someone gives you a Lei, it is a sign of peace and friendship. Its a tradition that goes back to the Polynesian Kings, and Hawaiian etiquette dictates that you accept it and wear it as long as you are in the presence of the one who gives it to you. At our Luau – EVERYONE GETS LEID!” 😂
Welcome Summer! See ya’ at the Pond Tour😊

This year is flying by…. Here we are on the Summer Solstice – The 1st. “Official Day of Summer”! AND, the longest day of the year!

The Summer Solstice is the longest day of the year! For instance – today the daytime hours are – 15 hours and 18 minutes. Compared to the Autumnal Equinox at 12 hours and 10 minutes AND the Winter Solstice at a mere 9 hours and 5 minutes… ENJOY these longer days while we have them 🙂
So what to do on this ‘Longest Day of the Year’?
There is the annual Miss Tennessee Pageant that’s in town!

Tennessee’s premier pageant is held each year in Jackson TN at the Carl Perkins Civic Center. The winner competes in the Miss America Pageant. Thirty-six dynamic local representatives will compete for scholarships with one lady being awarded the prestigious title of Miss Tennessee 2018!
OR, you could do what I’m doing… Getting ready for the weekend and Carters Nursery’s 20th. Annual ‘Parade of Ponds to benefit the Jackson Animal Care Center! Have you gotten your tickets yet???

Carters Nursery, Pond & Patio’s ‘Parade of Ponds’ benefits our own Jackson Animal Care & Adoption Center. 100% of ticket sales goes to support their Mission in our community!

This is the 20th. year for our Annual Summer Pond Tour! The Pond Tour supports JACAAC – The Pond Tour Date is June 23rd. (Saturday). Tickets are $20 and 100% goes to support the cause! Please help get the word out! | Carters Nursery, Pond & Patio | Jackson, TN
I’m getting ready for the ‘Moonlight Luau’ party myself! My “Luau Get-up” is ready!

Folks I am ready! My “Luau Get-up” is laid out and ready! Tommy Bahama eat your heart out! 🙂 We are gonna have a contest to see who gets voted “Best Luau Look” and the winner will receive a special prize!
No matter what YOU do today, get outside and enjoy the 1st “Official” Day of SUMMER!!!
Happy Pondering!
