2023 is definitely off to a quick start for me. Back to work is an understatement… But certain things slow you down to pay homage and reflect on. Like my son turning 21 this past week ❤️ Milestones like this really make you reflect. Saying “time flies” just doesn’t tell the story, but in a way it does sum it up… Time is such an illusion. It slips right through our grasp and pours through our fingers, and we can never get it back. We have had a lot of time well spent together! I’ve made a point to spend as much time as possible with my family and with my son over the past 21 years! And the only regrets I can think of are the few things we didn’t get to do… YET! I feel very blessed to have him in my life and I look forward to what the future may bring.

The future looks bright for my little (6’3”) 21 year old son. What an impressive man he has become. 🙏🏻❤️
Sunday brunch and coffee are forthcoming ☕️ 🍳

Here’s a cool throwback Thursday collage. 4 Carter men down through the years 😊

I don’t have a good picture of my Popaw as a boy (upper left) but I do for my dad, myself and my son 😊
I LOVE looking back at old photos! Can you see the family resemblance 😊 Doyal, Charles, Mark & Jacob Carter!
This is my offering for #throwbackthursday !

Do y’all know what “Throwback Thursday” is? There’s no shame if you don’t 😊 It’s a fairly new social phenomenon… You post old photos from the past & hashtag it like this – #ThrowbackThursday OR #TBT – Then post it on your social media page for all the world to see 😊 I had already done today’s blog and was about to publish it this morning when my son came out to go to work with my crew. I literally got a lump in my throat thinking about how fast time flies by… So today, a short #TBT for ya.

This is a picture of Jacob from 10 years ago at one of our Butterfly House programs. He has grown up at the Nursery & Loves it ❤️
Lot of great memories and Throwback Thursday pics of that little boy from yesterday.
Now Jacob is learning the ropes of working in the field with the crew. And Loving it! 🌞
This is my offering on #ThrowbackThursday ! A look back & a glimpse of what’s to come❤️
Have a GREAT Day!

I’ve been up since before the sun rise thinking about the significance of Fathers Day… I have been so blessed as a son AND as a father myself. My best memories of childhood are linked to my dad – fishing, hunting, learning how to work and do things, you name it! The love of animals and taking care of my first pet all goes back to my experiences with my Dad too!

That’s me with my dad & my first dog Heidi – He let me pick out my very 1st. dog on my own 😊 In this picture I’m wearing his uniform hat and his coat… of course. He was & still is the BEST dad in the world! Fathers Day is today! We are going to lunch & I’m looking forward to it 😊
My dad was a professional firefighter. Growing up I loved visiting the station and hanging out with him and the other firemen. They were family. I found this old picture a few years back, it goes way back and is a favorite of mine now. Dad was proud to have me at the station even when I was so little…

I was a toddler in this picture. Around 1 year old. This one was at Station #2 down on Westwood. I literally grew up there 🙂 GREAT memories of that place and the time we all spent there.
I’m so lucky to have so much more than a “Father”, I have a Dad!
