Did you go outside last night to see the Star ⭐️ They say the alignment of these two heavenly bodies this closely hasn’t happened like last nights occurrence in around 800 years! WOW! Jo, Jacob and I all jumped in the truck right before sunset and drove down the road a ways to a clearing to get a good look 👀

I didn’t get great pictures, mainly because of the camera I was using (iPhone) But it was pretty neat seeing what many think happened on the night of Christ’s birth so long ago.

Peace 🙏🏻 And Merry Christmas 🎄

Hello everyone, my name is Mark Carter and I am an ‘Opacarophile’… Good news, it hasn’t become a problem, yet! 😊 Your probably thinking, what the H@#!! Is a Opacarophile?!
Simply put – An Opacarophile, is a lover of sunsets 🌅

An Opacarophile’ is one who LOVES watching the sunset. The feeling you get watching the sunset over the water is a Zen feeling. There is a bit of magic in it…
“A lover of sunsets is called an ‘opacarophile’. To understand its roots, the word opacarophile can be broken down into two parts: ‘opacare’ which is Latin for dusk or sunset, and ‘phile’ which is Greek for love.“
If you follow my blog you already knew that I post sunset pictures all the time. 😊
I think enjoying a beautiful sunset enriches your spirit! Those few minutes before and after the sunset are fleeting… You have to be completely present to enjoy and experience it fully. And when you do, you carry that feeling and beauty with you for quite a while. It can set the tone for a wonderful night almost every time. 😉
With that in mind I recently started a new Facebook page called Tennessee River Sunsets. Please feel free to like the page and share Tennessee River Sunsets of your own!👇🏻

I hope you will enjoy the sunset as well! And if you realize you are also a ‘Opacarophile’ – your welcome to come to the support group every Friday evening at Birdsong! 😊
Have a great evening! 🌅

It rained almost all day on Easter Sunday, but it finally quit and the sun came out and the clouds were moving right along, beautifully reflecting the setting sun. You can hear the wind and the birds… I was thinking how quiet and peaceful it was, very Zen like…
I hope you have a peaceful day!

Did you see any shooting stars last night? Or early this morning? Guess what? We are in the peak of the Leonids Meteor Shower! 💥 Last night & luckily for you – Tonight, is the BEST time to see some! I read a bit about it to find out a few facts…

If your up, tonight is going to be the best night to see a “Shooting Star”! Between midnight and dawn is the best time… Good news, if you tough it out and see one, YOU get to make a wish 💫
The yearly ‘Leonids come from a Comet that orbits the sun every 33 years! The comets name is Temple/Tuttle. It won’t be back around to us until 2031… Pretty cool huh 😎
Leonids Over Us
“The sky is streaked with them
burning hole in black space —
like fireworks, someone says
all friendly in the dark chill
of Newcomb Hollow in November,
friends known only by voices.
We lie on the cold sand and it
embraces us, this beach
where locals never go in summer
and boast of their absence. Now
we lie eyes open to the flowers
of white ice that blaze over us
and seem to imprint directly
on our brains. I feel the earth,
rolling beneath as we face out
into the endlessness we usually
ignore. Past the evanescent
meteors, infinity pulls hard.”
~ Marge Piercy
Have a Great Sunday! And a great Sunday night viewing the Leonids! 💫
