Carter's Water Garden

Saturday’s Virtual Destination

Well, if you haven’t already seen it, a LOT of us have been posting pictures we snapped of places we have traveled over the years. The idea is to share some beauty during this quarantine and “virtually travel”… It starts with a header like this one below followed by a photo 👇🏻

“Join the challenge of posting a picture of some landscape from a place where you’ve been, where the main requirement is that you NOT appear in it. Just a picture, no description. The goal is to flood profiles with landscape photos to give a twist on the situation we’re going through.
Copy the text to your status, post a photo and let’s travel virtually!!”

I hope you and your family enjoy a Blessed Easter Weekend!

Social Distancing Is Real…

This Wuhan Virus has really caused a mess… Spring is finally here & everyone wants to get out and about! Spring break, Spring festivals, Florida beaches, March Madness, The Masters, Daytona… NOT SO FAST!

Data supports the idea that “Social Distancing” helps in an outbreak like we are experiencing. Does it suck? YES! BUT, it will save lives… Think of it as an extended Spring Break… A “Staycation” if you will.

FYI: We have canceled our Annual Spring Fest that we have hosted for 23 years! Our other Spring venues have shut down as well… No ‘Spring Fling’ for the Master Gardeners 😨 Even Disney World has closed… What does it all mean? I think it means we have to control our movements and actions for a little while to preserve the health of the country…

I copy pasted this from a good source. There is a live link to the CDC’s published guidelines here. Check it out 👇🏻

“The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has issued guidelines for “community mitigation strategies” to limit the spread of COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, which include recommendations for “social distancing”—a term that epidemiologists are using to refer to a conscious effort to reduce close contact between people and hopefully stymie community transmission of the virus.”

Washing your hands with warm soapy water for 30 seconds is the best way to stay clean. Hand sanitizer’s help, but washing is the best.

Dr. Ron Kirkland called in to the show yesterday (The 180) to talk about things that will help. Almost all were common sense & all benefit you greatly! Things like –

  •  Get 7-9 hours of sleep 😴
  • Drink Lots of Water 💧
  • Take Vitamin C
  • Eat Healthy!
  • Walk! Light exercise is good!
  • Get some sun! 20-30 minutes a day minimum!
  • Keep your hands clean! etc…

Hang in there, this too shall pass! Wash your hands, Cover your sneeze 🤧 & discipline yourself NOT to touch your face. Eat right and get plenty of rest. Sounds pretty doable to me… In the long run, this will make us stronger!
