We have been celebrating this day since 1918, that was the day we signed the armistice to end WW1. It was signed on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918. At 11am today, it all lines up.
• 343 Firefighters died saving others! Many that survived are dying from cancer now at an alarming rate! Thank a Firefighter today…
BUT – We survived! We united! We rebuilt!
#neverforget!
I remember that day and i remember this timeline. It was a day we can never forget!
Its been 20 years now. My wife was pregnant with our son when it happened. He is 19 now, working and going to school. Many of his peers don’t know much about what happened on 9/11! Watch the memorials with them today, they will be on ALL day! Talk about what happened that day & how it made you feel! We owe it to kids and we owe it to our fallen brothers and sisters to Never Forget! Lets reflect on the bravery of our first responders and say prayers for all the lives lost 🙏🏻 #neverforget !
We need to pull together again! Like we pulled together on 9/12! We rallied together, and we were stronger than we could have imagined! Prayers for our country and our countrymen today! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I started out this morning headed to the post office to get some stamps… You know what happened 😊
In my rush to get started, I forgot what today is & Who it honors…
So, let me say –
‘Have a Great Martin Luther King, Jr. Day’!
“I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word in reality. This is why right, temporarily defeated, is stronger than evil triumphant.”
Veterans Day was originally called Armistice Day, because November 11th. was the day they signed the Armistice that put an end to WWI. Back then it only honored those who died in war. But in 1954 the day became known as Veterans Day & now honors all who have served our country. So let’s all thank a veteran today! Without all their hard work & sacrifice, we wouldn’t have the privileges & freedoms that we enjoy today.
Happy Veterans Day!
“The willingness with which our young people are likely to serve in any war, no matter how justified, shall be directly proportional to how they perceive the Veterans of earlier wars were treated and appreciated by their nation.”
The whole team at Carters Nursery, Pond & Patio wants to wish everyone a Happy and Healthy Labor Day Weekend! The Nursery will be closed Saturday, Sunday and Monday in observance of the Holiday!
Have a Safe and Happy Labor Day! God Bless America! 🇺🇸💥
Thanks Pete! We all need a long weekend!
By the way, I’m talking about Mr. – 👇🏻 “Peter J. McGuire, a carpenter and labor union leader, was the person who came up with the idea for Labor Day. He thought American workers should be honored with their own day. He proposed his idea to New York’s Central Labor Union early in 1882, and they thought the holiday was a good idea, too.”
I LOVE Tennessee! I especially love the Natural Springs, Creeks, Waterfalls and Rivers ❤️ In some areas of the state a beautiful stream, strewn with little waterfalls flows around and through every holler. I stopped by just such a stream the other day and walked down to the bank and took this short video to share this morning. It is such a relaxing sound and the water is as warm as a bath right now. So, Zen…
I usually post a Waterfall or nature shot for my Moment of Zen, but I thought this was a good offering as well. Hundreds And hundreds of fellow Americans celebrating our country together! Not 1 fight or argument did I see or hear of! I took this short video from the boat I was on, as you see LOTS of others came in their boats as well. Check it out 👇🏻
It was a great to see so many people getting along and cheering for our country! We need more of this ❤️
The Declaration of Independence changed everything! It changed the world! No matter your politics, today is the day for Americans to celebrate and wave Old Glory🇺🇸! I still get choked up when we all stand and put our hands on our hearts and pledge the flag!
I’m proud of that “Ragged Old Flag”! How about you? #Godblessamerica!
Stars and Stripes Forever!
Freedom’s natal day is here. Fire the guns and shout for freedom, See the flag above unfurled! Hail the stars and stripes forever, Dearest flag in all the world.
Turn off the TV, lay down the smart phone, relax your mind for a little while… I’ve been reflecting on things lately. My life, family, country, God. I for one feel blessed! I am proud to be an American! I took this picture last night as we watched the sunset. Old Glory speaks volumes if you’ll listen…
I want to take a minute and say how thankful I am to be an American! No other country on the face of the earth affords us the rights and privileges that we have as Americans. Stand up! Speak your mind! Hold your ground! God Bless America! 🇺🇸
God bless America, Land that I love, Stand beside her and guide her Through the night with a light from above. From the mountains, to the prairies, To the oceans white with foam. God bless America, My home sweet home. God bless America, My home sweet home.
