I have been absent from my Blog for a couple of weeks now. I was surprised at the # of people that sent comments to me about my absence… The messages were mostly concern that something was wrong since I write something every day… Thanks for that! But, No, there was nothing wrong! I abstained from posting in order to be totally present during a LONG road trip with my wife Jo. We were on a business, training, buying… ‘adventure’, that took us all across the South! Down thru Mississippi, across the Panhandle of Florida, along the Florida Springs trail, across to the Atlantic side and all the way down historic Coastal Highway A1A to the end of the road “Mile Marker 0” in Key West! Then back up through central Florida into Georgia exploring Nurseries and HUGE Ornamental Plant Growing operations! We even spent the night in Greg Allmans bedroom and visited the graves of some of my (and probably your) musical hero’s… Climbed a mountain, and finally ended up back home in the middle of an Ice 🧊 Storm ⛈!!!

Thank God that we were spared from a repeat of 94 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 But it was a shock to the system to come back to heavy winds from the north and 18 degree temps 🥶

Over the next few days I will share some pictures and stories of our recent travels and some news of things to come 😊
To boil it down – I’m back & I am excited about 2022!
And, I’m so glad to be back home again!!!

What a beautiful morning 🌞 Sunday morning is the start of the new week, and quite the week is ahead… This week leads us to Saturday evening and our annual Moonlight Pond Tour 🌝 There is always so much to do! Ive been sipping coffee thinking about it and scribbling down a rough list as things come to me… Last minute kind of stuff, you know how it works, a ”few little details”… This = a week of Hard Work!

Last evenings perfect sunset was followed by a rising, waxing moon 🌙 So beautiful! This months Full Moon is the Harvest Moon 🌝 which means, the Moonlight Pond Tour is coming!

If you have ever made big plans with great intentions of success, you know what it means to have a ”few details” to take care of… “All we lack is finishing up”… ie; Gotta get to work!
Y’all have a great Sunday! See ya’ Saturday evening 😊

Jo and I always celebrate our wedding anniversary by taking a few days off. Looking back and looking forward is very important for a good relationship! I am sitting in a marina having lunch with Jo as I type this 😊 we are swapping old pictures and I wanted to make this one my #throwbackthursday picture.

Throwback Thursday is always a special day.
Have a great day!

There’s nothing like the first evening in late Winter or Early Spring when you hear the peepers waking up. Their sound fills the air and you know Spring is almost here. Once “Spring has Sprung” that nighttime sound only gets deeper and more intense… Especially when you have a Pond in your Landscape. I literally fell asleep last night sitting by my Pond 😴
So I made a short video recording of the “Sound of the Season” in my yard. Take a listen 🎧
I sure do enjoy the “Nightlife” 😊

Have a good day and even better night!

We don’t get “BIG” snow like this very often… Thank God! So many aren’t prepared for it! Power goes out, heat goes out, no water, etc, etc… I myself even lost one of my main greenhouses from the sheer weight of the snow… But, today I’m gonna try to focus on the Beauty of it all. Much of it from my window 😊 Its COLD out there 🥶

I just thought I would share a few pictures of what I think is a Beautiful, Winter Landscape. The “Entertainment of the day” the last few days has been sitting in front of the French doors and watching the birds eat the seed we’ve been throwing out. Even our dogs are glued to the ‘Theater of Life’ that’s just on the other side of the glass.

Enjoy your snow day! And stay warm 🔥
PS: Spring is Coming!

Way way back when I had a head full of red hair👨🏻🦰Jo hasn’t changed much in all these years… At least not as much as I have 😊
I have grown to Love posting these old pictures for Throwback Thursday! A picture is truly worth a thousand words.

Here’s an oldie for #throwbackthursday! How many of you remember the activity center at West Jackson Baptist Church? I know I do! I loved skating there 😊 This was a Halloween party they held out on the skating rink floor. I remember that cowboy suit I was wearing in this picture too! It was my favorite ❤️ Roy Rogers, eat your heart out.

I LOVED my cowboy get-up! This was 1972 or so at West Jackson Baptist Activity Center. They turned the skating rink into a Halloween Party. I can’t remember that young lady’s name, but like all ladies, she loves a cowboy 🤠 😂
I have grown to LOVE Throwback Thursday 😊 Y’all have a great day!

Here’s a #throwbackthursday picture that’s near and dear to my heart ❤️ My son (also my youngest uniformed employee 😊). He Loved flowers as a child! And he still does… We got this picture of him in a large grouping of Coneflowers. They are still one of his favorites.

My boy taught me a LOT about “Stopping to smell the roses”… Cone flowers in this case 😊 I came across this one and had to use it for today’s Throwback Thursday Picture ❤️
Throwback Thursday is always a good day! I hope you enjoy yours!
