Carter's Water Garden

Monday Morning Moment Of Zen | Carters Nursery, Pond & Patio | Jackson, Tennessee

Being able to look out your window and see a flowing Waterfall, and then to walk out anytime you want and sit beside the stream and hear the sound and feel the positive energy… It’s an Awesome thing indeed! This Pondless Waterfall is such a feature and this is the perfect Zen Backyard. It is the Nucleus of the entire property.

The Water Feature is the Nucleus of the entire Backyard world…

Pond TALE Tuesday… | Carters Nursery, Pond & Patio | Jackson, Tennessee

I LOVE designing and building Custom Water Features! Many of my designs start with a story… Or a ‘Tale’ if you will. Like this one Today for instance…

The Tale is, on my beautiful brides and my Honeymoon, we drove to the Mountains of East Tennessee. We had a big old time too! ❤️ One day in particular, we decided to get out and ride around and see where the road would lead us. Long story short, we took a picnic 🧺 lunch and headed down a trail into the woods … We ended up stopping by a beautiful stone creek with Several little Waterfalls and a perfect spot to sit down and eat. My wife Jo Was so struck by the spot that I sketched the little stream and waterfalls out on a napkin and promised to build her a spot “just like it” at home when we got back 😊

This is what I came up with based on my sketch and memory from that little spot in the woods outside Gatlinburg. Complete with Natural Tennessee Stone, driftwood and washed out stumps.

I have added a stone patio, a fire 🔥 pit, a grilling area and more, but the original Tale lives on 😊 We just celebrated our 27th Anniversary. This little Waterfall and Pond has brought us much joy ❤️ Heck, I’m still writing stories about it all these years later.

Here’s a picture of the Waterfalls and Pond from opposing angles.

So there’s a sappy Tuesday Tale about Peace ✌🏻 Love ❤️ & Waterfalls 😊 Have a great day!

Monday Morning Moment Of Zen…

I LOVE Tennessee! I especially love the Natural Springs, Creeks, Waterfalls and Rivers ❤️ In some areas of the state a beautiful stream, strewn with little waterfalls flows around and through every holler. I stopped by just such a stream the other day and walked down to the bank and took this short video to share this morning. It is such a relaxing sound and the water is as warm as a bath right now. So, Zen…

Enjoy a wonderful ‘Zen Filled’ Monday!

A Fun & Safe Way To Share & Inspire | Carters Nursery, Pond & Patio | Jackson, Tennessee

There’s so much negativity out there right now… It’s hard to find a good story or an inspiring picture… That’s why many of us have been posting certain pictures on our Facebook pages.

Heres How YOU Can Play!

Copy/paste the text below & a picture as per directions. I’ve been doing it every day! 👇🏻

“Join the challenge of posting a picture of some landscape from a place where you’ve been, where the main requirement is that you NOT appear in it. Just a picture, no description. The goal is to flood profiles with landscape photos to give a twist on the situation we’re going through.
Copy the text to your status, post a photo and let’s travel virtually!!”

I have a LOT of pictures from beautiful places that I will be posting daily! Like this one 👇🏻

I took this one in a kayak on Birdsong Creek. I am going to post one every morning on my Facebook page! Check it out 👇🏻 https://www.facebook.com/mark.carter.775

This is something we can all do. Spread some Beauty during this time of crisis!

I hope you will enjoy the pictures I post 😊

Y’all stay safe & God Bless! 🙏🏻

Monday Morning Moment Of Zen | Carters Nursery, Pond & Patio | Jackson, Tennessee

I was out on a clients property the other day & he asked if I would like to see the Creek… Yes was the answer of course 😊 Even on a Hot August day the water is nice and cool 😎 Being down there by the creek was so peaceful and ‘Zen like’ … The sound of the water with the frogs & birds & cicadas is almost Hypnotic.

This is privately owned property & is the homeowners personal respite from the world. We are going to build them a custom Water Feature up by their house so they can enjoy & relax to the sound of water all the time 😊

Beautiful Creek

I hope this little video brings a little ‘Zen’ into your day. When I want to relax, I just close my eyes and listen to the waterfalls & clear my mind. Within a few minutes I relax, my heart rate slows, my blood pressure drops & I literally feel better. Try it…

Sunday Reflections…

All these dark, wet days really limit what we can do outside. Add in the the fact that the days are steadily getting shorter and shorter & it kinda gets … depressing.

The Winter Solstice (December 21st) marks the shortest day of the year. Good News is – the day after, the days start getting LONGER again! THIS Friday is the Day! YES!

BUT, this morning was so beautiful! Beautiful sunrise & decent temps makes for a nice Sunday morning! I walked around the garden a bit and suddenly had so many ideas flowing through my mind! Changes & new things get me excited! These ideas and plans help get me through to Spring 😊 Now I’m sitting on the swing typing out this mornings BLOG post.

Take it from me – Beat the Winter blues! Get outside every chance you get… It’s the best medicine 😊

”From December to March, there are for many of us three gardens –                            The garden outdoors,                                       The garden of pots and bowls in the house,    And the garden of the mind’s eye.”
