What day is it? Hump Day! YES!!! But, around here, it’s #Waterfallwednesday! I’m fortunate in the fact that I get to make my living doing what I enjoy and LOVE! Waterfalls are my business and business is good! Check out this little collage of flowing Waterfalls I put together for y’all in honor of this day! It’s Waterfall Wednesday! 💥
I was out in the Garden late last evening. When it gets warm I have a hard time making myself go inside 😊 I captured this little video of a Waterfall for this mornings Moment of Zen… Hope you like it.
There is something about a Waterfall… It will grab your attention and all of a sudden a wave of relaxation washes over you and you are calm, cool and collected… I hope this little snippet will help you relax a bit too 😊
Yes, another week is flying by ✈️ It’s already #waterfallwednesday 🌊
Many people ask me what my favorite Waterfall that we’ve built is…? Well, it’s the one we are building right now of course 😊
Not all Waterfalls are huge and dramatic. Some are gentle and meandering, with streams and lots of small falls and guess what… They have a HUGE impact in the Landscape! One of the main things in my opinion, is that they fit the scale of the existing Landscape and topography. In other words, if you put a big mound in the middle of a flat space, expect the ‘Volcano’ effect. I try to always make it feel as natural and real as possible.
Yes, time is flying by 🌬 So you must be having FUN 🤩 I know I am! It’s Springtime in Tennessee… Here we are at the halfway point of yet another week. Some people call it hump day 🐫… I call it #waterfallwednesday! 💥
A wonderful client sent this to me the other morning. We installed this waterfall over a decade ago and it’s still looking great! Add in her beautiful landscape and awesome pool… It’s a jaw dropper 😳
When you have a Waterfall in your backyard, every day is waterfall day! 💥
Here’s a closeup from under the bridge. I just LOVE this Water Feature! ❤️
Enjoy this beautiful day! And try to enjoy a Waterfall today! After all, “It’s #waterfallwednesday”! 💥
2021 is moving right along and here it is, already #waterfallwednesday! I thought I would share one of my personal Waterfalls today…. I have a bunch, a collection, an… obsession 😊 Yes, I have a problem… I guess I should introduce myself. Hello, my name is Mark Carter & I am a Waterfallaholic 😇
This is one of my favorite Waterfalls. It’s so simple… Moss covered and flowing out from under a big old Cedar Tree Stump. It’s the headwaters to a long flowing stream that feeds a beautiful Koi Pond. Whew 😅 I’m glad I got that off my chest. And I hope y’all enjoy Waterfalls as well! But be careful, they are addictive… Enjoy with moderation 😎
Have a great evening!
PS: Do you know the difference between a Waterfall ‘Enthusiast’ and a “Waterfallaholic”??? Answer : Waterfallaholics go to meetings…
This Moss covered Waterfall has been here for several years. I stopped by for a visit the other day and got the chance to make this little video. How beautiful! And what a wonderful sound 🎵 Situated right by the deck and framed by the back windows of the home, this feature is part of the owners everyday life. Take a listen and see if it gives you a relaxing Zen feeling 🌞
I was onsite at a recent residential project the other day and the sun was at a pleasing angle so I snapped a few pictures for comparison. Later in the evening I looked through some of the images, like I do many days, and I was blown away! It’s really nice to look back at how a garden has matured and developed over time. And you can really tell when someone is involved with their landscape and garden.
I Love ❤️ Watergardens! This is just a snippet of this feature, but I love this view. And the sound is so relaxing 😌
I LOVE designing and building Custom Water Features! Many of my designs start with a story… Or a ‘Tale’ if you will. Like this one Today for instance…
The Tale is, on my beautiful brides and my Honeymoon, we drove to the Mountains of East Tennessee. We had a big old time too! ❤️ One day in particular, we decided to get out and ride around and see where the road would lead us. Long story short, we took a picnic 🧺 lunch and headed down a trail into the woods … We ended up stopping by a beautiful stone creek with Several little Waterfalls and a perfect spot to sit down and eat. My wife Jo Was so struck by the spot that I sketched the little stream and waterfalls out on a napkin and promised to build her a spot “just like it” at home when we got back 😊
This is what I came up with based on my sketch and memory from that little spot in the woods outside Gatlinburg. Complete with Natural Tennessee Stone, driftwood and washed out stumps.
I have added a stone patio, a fire 🔥 pit, a grilling area and more, but the original Tale lives on 😊 We just celebrated our 27th Anniversary. This little Waterfall and Pond has brought us much joy ❤️ Heck, I’m still writing stories about it all these years later.
Here’s a picture of the Waterfalls and Pond from opposing angles.
So there’s a sappy Tuesday Tale about Peace ✌🏻 Love ❤️ & Waterfalls 😊 Have a great day!
A LOT of my inspiration comes from Nature! I have learned so much from observing natural waterfalls and streams!
I was thinking a lot about why I Love ❤️ waterfalls so much. And also where I get my inspiration to design and build them. It really comes from a love of nature. Streams and creeks and natural waterfalls are always the most beautiful! My goal is to replicate them. To design and build a Water Feature in your backyard that looks, sounds and feels like a natural, organic Waterfall… That’s our goal! Today is #waterfallwednesday, I couldn’t narrow down just one image that felt complete today, so here are several 😊 Click on this link and check em out 👇🏻
The night time garden is my favorite! Grilling a late dinner, a cozy fire 🔥 & feeding my Koi ❤️ Don’t get much better than that! Here’s a short video of the waterfalls with the lighting from last night.
