Sunday Reflections…

My son Jacob turns 18 today. 18 years in the blink of an eye 👁 Many of you know him personally & appreciate the man he has become. I’m about to fix his favorite breakfast and spend the day with my boy… I can still call him that, even though he is 6’ 3” and weighs about 220… 😎 I’m a Very proud papa!!!

A collage of pictures of our Birthday boy through the years. From the poster boy for the outdoor classroom movement to putting on butterfly programs, hanging out with his favorite performers & to the man he is today. What a great young man he has become ❤️

Happy Birthday Jacob! I Love you son!

“If you can keep your head when all about you
    Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
    But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
    Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated, don’t give way to hating,
    And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:
If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;
    If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
    And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
    Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
    And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools:
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
    And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
    And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
    To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
    Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
    Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
    If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
    With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
    And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!”

Coming Soon – Saturday Gardening!

Well, the weather outside is awful! Rain 🌧 Wind 💨 Muddy- NOT a good day to be in the garden! Ahhh, but all that will change soon & we need to be ready!

Nasty weather this weekend… But – Cheer up, Spring is Coming!

It won’t be long till we see the sun again!! And it won’t be long until we are out in the garden! It sometimes seems like the end of gloomy days isn’t in sight, but take heart – Spring is Coming!

Have a great weekend!

PS: Happy Birthday Jacob! ❤️

Happy Birthday Baby! Thank You Very Much!

Like many of you, I grew up with Elvis in my life. My mom was what you call a ‘super fan’! I won’t mention her name, but her initials are – Sandra Carter 😎 It seems like his music was always playing in our house. By the time I was 5 years old I knew many of his songs by heart & would sing 🎤 them with very little coaxing 😊 Today is his birthday! So, Happy Birthday To the King of Rock & Roll! Thanks for all the music & memories!

“I don’t always listen to Elvis, but when I do, so do all the neighbors!” 💥

Happy Birthday! Thanks for all the music!

Have a great Hump Day y’all!
