What a Beautiful spring morning! The birds are singing, the air is crisp and cool and the whole Landscape is in Bloom! 💐 When I saw these Iris blooming in the forefront, I knew where todays inspiration was coming from ❤️ My Grandmother planted these Iris many moons 🌙 ago.

#Waterfallwednesday is always a great day! Old memories just make it even better 😊

I always enjoy looking back on #throwbackthursday. Today my memory is in full bloom.

As a young man, I spent much of my Summer time working with my Grandad. Gardening, working cattle and cutting, splitting and hauling wood 🪵 for the winter. A HUGE old oak tree fell in a lady’s yard during a storm. Grandad was called to cut it up and haul it away. So we did just that, and more.
The old Oak had fallen in a huge flower bed and destroyed a lot of plants. Including a big drift of these azaleas. She told us to take what we wanted if they were salvageable… So, grandma came over and picked out what she wanted and we dug em up and transplanted them to our home place. When Spring rolls around each year, this Azalea (the last one) is a living reminder of those times spent with my Grandad cutting wood and with my Grandma in the Garden ❤️
Here’s to family memories!

Are you on Facebook? If not, you might find this interesting 🤔 If you are, then you know of what I speak… Everyday I get a picture that I personally posted, usually years ago, it just pops up in my home feed, it’s labeled as a “Facebook Memory” and it tells you exactly how many years ago that you originally posted it. Then you get to look back through the comments and likes, and if you want you can share it as a Story or to your feed and friends. At first, I didn’t know what to think about it, but I have grown to enjoy them and I usually share them again.

These pictures of our work that I have posted from years ago, just pop up as a “Facebook memory”… Actually pretty cool 😎 | Carters Nursery, Pond & Patio | Jackson, Tennessee
Today’s memory was 3 years old. A couple of days ago it was a 7 year memory that I had forgotten about…
What do YOU think 🤔 about the way social media like Facebook has changed our daily lives? How, if any, has it changed yours?
“Memories, brought to you by Facebook”…

Screenshot of what it looks like on your device. Do you look at these? Do you find it charming, or invasive? Just asking…
I have grown to think that it helps me share what I do. Our work at Carters Nursery, Pond & Patio is so visual! It’s hard to describe what we build so that you can form an accurate picture in your minds eye… So that picture you see, of what your backyard could actually look like, is worth a thousand words…
I’m writing this outside and it’s starting to rain 🌧 I hope you enjoyed it 😊
Have a Great Weekend!

I got up early this morning, watched the sunrise and bumed around the gardens a bit. It’s funny how plants and flowers can bring back memories. Strong memories of family. Good times & blessed memories. Living, blooming, perennial reminders.
“Gardeners , like everyone else, live second by second and minute by minute. What we see at one particular moment is then and there before us. But there is a second way of seeing. Seeing with the eye of memory, not the eye of our anatomy, calls up days and seasons past and years gone by.”
~ Allen Lacy, The Gardener’s Eye
Have a blessed day!
