Sunday Reflection’s…

2023 is definitely off to a quick start for me. Back to work is an understatement… But certain things slow you down to pay homage and reflect on. Like my son turning 21 this past week ❤️ Milestones like this really make you reflect. Saying “time flies” just doesn’t tell the story, but in a way it does sum it up… Time is such an illusion. It slips right through our grasp and pours through our fingers, and we can never get it back. We have had a lot of time well spent together! I’ve made a point to spend as much time as possible with my family and with my son over the past 21 years! And the only regrets I can think of are the few things we didn’t get to do… YET! I feel very blessed to have him in my life and I look forward to what the future may bring.

The future looks bright for my little (6’3”) 21 year old son. What an impressive man he has become. 🙏🏻❤️

Sunday brunch and coffee are forthcoming ☕️ 🍳

Merry Christmas 🎄 I have found myself becoming more and more in the Spirit of the season this year! We have been decorating around the place on a daily basis… Add to that all the food and party’s and plans being made, This year has felt more “Christmasy” than normal 🎅🏼

My “Sled” has already been decorated for the season 😊Merry Christmas Y’all!

We still have LOTS to do before the big family get together, but I’m good with that! It’s 2 weeks until Christmas Day! 😮 Wow right… Be ready!

Christmas is Coming! 🎅🏼

Christmas is Coming! Whether we are ready or not… I hope you are feeling the Spirit of the season ❤️

Sunday Reflections…

Well, the first week of Spring has been exciting as advertised! Plants, Ponds, Stones and Boulders have been flying! Today – Grass to trim, bird feeders to fill! Including the Hummingbird Feeders that we have recently put back up for our returning babies ❤️ But not until we eat Breakfast!

Country Ham, eggs and biscuits! Suey!!!

Jacob also insists on getting a haircut today, so Jo made quick work of that!

Decent pile of hair came off that boy!

Just to prove my point that its a lot of hair… It didnt take much shaping of the pile to reveal a “dead dog” 😂

Anyway… It turns out that our son was under that pile of hair too 😮 WOW!

I would have kept going… But it turned out well 😊

The Barber came to cut my hair,
I told him that it wasn’t fair.
My hair had done him no harm,
Without it I would loose my charm.
The Barber he grinned a silly grin,
Said to cut my hair would be no sin.
That I should face it like a man,
But I’m a coward and away I ran.
Do you like sitting in a Barbers chair,
With him chopping away your lovely hair.
Once my head was full of curls,
Covering my face with twisty twirls.
But then the Barber came my way,
I was a child, I had no say.
Off came my curls one by one,
The Barber seemed to have great fun.
Now I’m old and very grey,
I’m nearly bald, my hairs gone away.
But when I see a Barbers chair,
I feel the loss of my curly hair.
You know I truly rue the day,
When that first Barber came my way.

– Bernard Shaw

Have a great Sunday Evening!

Sunday Reflections…

We are 2 weeks from the time change. We “Spring forward” Sunday March the 13th at 2am! Then only a week after that BOOM 💥 1st day of Spring! Rain and more rain 🌧 Wind 💨 Ice 🧊 Snow ❄️ – But still, Spring is Coming! This lingering winter weather and slow build up and transition is always what causes my Spring Fever 🌼 🤒 🌼

Spring Fever is real! Heres a quote from a few years back – ”Back when the phrase first appeared in the U.S. in the 1850s, spring fever meant “the listless feeling caused by the first sudden increase of temperature in spring,” according to one dictionary.”

If nothing else, this energy for Spring gets me up and moving! Its Sunday and I’ve already done a full days work! 😊 The week ahead looks promising! I have a LOT of work to catch up on!

Even the Psalmist writes of a yearning in the scriptures – “I yearn for the Lord, more than watchmen do for the morning, yes, more than watchmen do for the morning.” ~ Psalm 130:6

Spring is Coming!

“Is the Spring coming?” he said. “What is it like?”… “It is the sun shining on the rain and the rain falling on the sunshine”…

~ Frances Hodgson Burnett

Have a great Sunday!

Sunday Reflections…

Cold morning🥶 I stepped out with my coffee ☕️ for a minute, yep… right back inside I came! I am being totally honest when I say… Come on Spring!

Business took me down to a place of perpetual Spring/Summer for a few days. It was nice, but I think it made my Spring Fever worse…

I’m a guy that LOVES the growing season! Spring is my favorite time of the year! So much life & renewal happens in Spring. I guess my recent trip south just pushed me closer to the edge… So I will share a few pictures of things to come! It may just help tide us over 😊

Enjoy your Sunday! Its actually going to get up into the mid 40’s today! 💥 Were having a heat wave 🔥 A tropical heat wave 😊

“Every gardener knows that under the cloak of winter lies a miracle … a seed waiting to sprout, a bulb opening to the light, a bud straining to unfurl.  And the anticipation nurtures our dream.”

~ Barbara Winkler

Sunday Reflections…

Well the new year is off and running 🏃‍♀️ It went from 75 degrees with a south wind yesterday to 23 degrees, high wind and snow today… But, thats life in West TN 😊 We got a LOT done in the house today. All the Holiday deco put away for the year and the house looks ready for Spring. We had a great late morning brunch…

Country ham, eggs and pancakes with whipped butter, maple syrup and coffee…

Followed by one of my wife’s favorites for dinner 🍲

Chicken tortilla soup is a favorite around here. I was gonna make a big pot of Chili, but ended up making a big pot of soup and way too much rice 😊 Im betting this will all get eat!

Not a bad start to the year if you ask me 💥

“January is here, with eyes that keenly glow,
A frost-mailed warrior
striding a shadowy steed of snow.”
  ~ Edgar Fawcett

Happy New Year!
