Evening By The Pond (1st one is Thursday, May 18th. at 6:30pm).
Come out and enjoy a laid back evening exploring a beautiful garden & relaxing by the pond. We always enjoy some good food, visit/meet friends & we always have an educational program on Water Gardens, Aquatic Plants, Fish OR some cool subject for all that come. We hold these little “get together’s” during the warm season so that you can enjoy the Water Gardens in the evening and experience the Outdoor Lighting. We are sponsoring two (2) Pond Tours this year; a Summer Pond Tour (June 24th.) & a Fall ‘Moonlight’ Pond Tour (September 30th.).
Saturday, June 24th – Our 25th. Annual Summer Pond Tour – Our ‘Summer’ Pond Tour (Always the Saturday after Father’s Day) is A FUN and Beautiful Day! This is a Self-Guided Tour and LOTS of Fun! Tickets are $20 ea. (children under 12 are FREE!). Carter’s Nursery is “Pond Central” for the Pond Tour and we invite you to come by throughout the day to sit a spell, have a drink & a snack and look at the BEAUTIFUL Gardens and Water Features.
July 4th (Tuesday) – Independence Day! We will be closed the 2nd., 3rd. & 4th. in observance of the holiday.
July 15th (Saturday) 9am – 2pm – ‘Get Your Feet Wet with Water Gardening!’ We are hosting a Water Gardening workshop at Carters Nursery to introduce you to the Water Gardening Lifestyle! Please call to register. This is a Free event.
September 30th . The 19th Annual ‘Moonlight Pond Tour’ – This is our Annual Night Time Pond Tour! The tour always falls on a Saturday Night closest to the Full Harvest Moon!! Don’t miss this Unique Garden Tour Experience! Tickets are $20 ea. (children under 12 are FREE!). Carters Nursery is “Pond Central” for the Pond Tour and we invite you to come by throughout the evening to sit a spell, have a drink & a light snack. Enjoy the Fire Pit and look at the BEAUTIFUL Gardens and Water Feature Lighting.
October 30th. (Saturday) 9am – 2pm – Fall Pond Workshop & Customer Appreciation Day. Come take part in our Workshops & Pumpkin Carving Classes! Snacks and drinks! + BIG SALES for the Fall Season for all that come!

“As Per Tradition”, we, the “Distinguished Few” will meet at the “Big Pond”, at the Nursery to Take our Annual ‘Chilly Willy Plunge” exactly at sunrise, which is 6:41am in the morning! I am, SO! excited! 💥 Last years plunge was canceled by the “Pandemic”… But this year, IT… IS… ON!!! Tomorrow morning is the 1st day of the END of our ‘Mask Mandate as well! So feel free to come on out topless! You are still welcome to wear a mask of course, and we will make our respective plunges this year in smaller than normal groups as well. So Come on! Always a fun event! But, tomorrow mornings ‘CWP’ will be taken at a crisp, 27 degrees (+\-) Fahrenheit… A record low temperature! Can you say shrinkage 🥶
I will open the gates as early as possible so everyone can get a number and get in position. I recommend that you come dressed in your chosen ‘Plunge attire’, wearing a robe or heavy coat & water shoes or flip flops. Some have even worn Cover All’s that they unzip and step right out of. Remember, it’s gonna be COLD 🥶
REMEMBER – please RSVP so I will know how much coco and mimosas to have ready 👍🏻
- Bring your own towels! 2 or 3 of them!
– Hot coco will be available.
PS: There’s a rumor that a ‘certain someone’, will be serving Mimosas for an epic Sunrise 🌅

We are at the end of 2020! As the last few days count down, I find myself doing what I always do this time of the year… Planning! Getting ready for next season! I’m hopeful that the coming spring will bring a more normal season for us all! Last years entire event schedule was ruined by COVID-19… NO workshops, no pond tours, no seminars, nothing got to happen. So, I’m really excited and hopeful, that things are going to be much different in this new year!
We also plan to eat our traditional New Years Meal! Hog Jowl, black eyed peas, cabbage, greens, cornbread & more! These old traditions must live on!

Happy New Year! I’m not one to waste time, so here is a basic layout of 2020 events with Carters Nursery, Pond & Patio. I am excited about the 2020 season & I know you are too! 😊 We will kick the season off with our 22nd. Annual Spring Festival on the 1st day of Spring! Saturday March 21st! 💥 – Fun, Food & Flowers! Boom! And it just gets better from there ❤️ 2020 is going to be an Awesome year & I’m looking forward to seeing everyone around the Nursery and around the PONDS! Here’s to a Spectacular 2020!

March 21st. (Saturday) 9am – 2pm – Carter’s Nursery Spring Festival & Customer Appreciation Day! Something for the whole family! Workshops & classes, a Petting Zoo for the kids + GREAT FOOD for all! Come out and help us kick off SPRING! (Saturday 9am. till 2pm.) This is a FREE event.

March 27th & 28th (Friday & Saturday) – Memphis Area Master Gardeners 16th Annual “Spring Fling” at the Red Barn at the Agricenter in Memphis. Come by to see our beautiful display and talk to the areas best “Water Feature Experts”.
April 4th (Saturday) – We will be setting up at the Tipton County Master Gardeners Annual Lawn & Garden Expo. in Brighton, Tn. at the Brighton High School. Come by and see our display and talk with our Water Gardening experts.
April 10th – Good Friday
April 12th – EASTER Sunday
May 10th (Sunday) – Mother’s Day! DON’T miss this one!
Evening By The Pond (1st one is Thursday, May 21st at 6:30pm).
Come out and enjoy a laid back evening exploring a beautiful garden & relaxing by the pond. We always enjoy some good food, visit/meet friends & we always have an educational program on Water Gardens, Aquatic Plants, Fish OR some cool subject for all that come. We hold these little get together’s during the warm season so that you can enjoy the Water Gardens in the evening and experience the Outdoor Lighting. If you would like to come & enjoy the evening with us please let us know and you will be put on the e-mail invitation list. Call Jo at 731-424-2206.

–The first “Evening by the Pond” of the 2020 season will be hosted by Mark Carter & family at the Nursery Home on Thursday May 21st. at 6:30pm.

Pond Tours in 2020
We are sponsoring two (2) Pond Tours this year; a Summer Pond Tour (June 27th.) & a Fall ‘Moonlight’ Pond Tour (October 3rd.).

June 27th – Our 22nd Annual Summer Pond Tour – Our ‘Summer’ Pond Tour (Always the Saturday after Father’s Day) is A FUN and Beautiful Day! This is a Self-Guided Tour and LOTS of Fun! Tickets are $20 ea. (children under 12 are FREE!). Carter’s Nursery is “Pond Central” for the Pond Tour and we invite you to come by throughout the day to sit a spell, have a drink & something to eat and look at the BEAUTIFUL Gardens and Water Features.
Our Summer Pond Tour & Moonlight Luau is a don’t miss event.
~ This is the night of the “Moonlight Luau!” Live music! + We cook fresh pork wrapped in banana leaves & spiced up “Kalua Style” and have a party beneath the stars! This is a DON’T MISS event! This party is also FREE with your ticket! Everyone is asked to wear your best “Luau Attire” & prizes will be given for “Best Dressed”! This is gonna be FUN!
July 4th (Saturday) – Independence Day! We will be closed in observance of the 4th!
Summer Seminars – We do three (3) every Summer! Come Take part in our educational Classes, Tour our Gardens and Ponds & stay for lunch with Mark Carter “Pond Guy” and crew for a great day of Fun and Learning.
July 18th (Saturday) 9am – 2pm – ‘Get Your Feet Wet with Water Gardening!’ will kick off our Summer Seminar season.
August & September- Date & Class TBA
October 3rd. The 16th Annual ‘Moonlight Pond Tour’ – This is our Annual Night Time Pond Tour! The tour always falls on a Saturday Night closest to the Full Moon!! This year the Harvest Moon IS this night! Don’t miss this Unique Garden Tour Experience! Tickets are $20 ea. (children under 12 are FREE!). Carters Nursery is “Pond Central” for the Pond Tour and we invite you to come by throughout the evening to sit a spell, have a drink & something to eat. Enjoy the Fire Pit and look at the BEAUTIFUL Garden and Water Feature Lighting.

October 17th (Saturday) 9am – 11am – Fall Festival/Customer Appreciation Day. Come take part in our Workshops & Pumpkin Carving Classes! FREE LUNCH for ALL that come! Petting Zoo for the kids! BIG SALES for the Fall Season for all that come!
We roll out the Fall “Welcome Wagon” every year at Carters Nursery for our annual Fall Fest! Y’all come!
