Monday Morning Moment Of Zen | Carters Nursery, Pond & Patio | Jackson, Tennessee

We always strive to make Water Features look as natural as possible. Using native stone and  mossy accent wood really helps too. This feature was just turned on for the first time 5 minutes before I took this video… Some of the stone was sourced from a local creek as well as this old cedar stump.

Monday Morning Moment Of Zen | Pondless Waterfall | Carters Nursery, Pond & Patio | Jackson, Tennessee

About 5 minutes before I took this video, we plugged this one in 😊 This brand new Pondless Waterfall looks like it has been here forever… It really naturalized this area and it truly brings a feeling of ‘Zen’…

Monday Morning Moment of Zen | Carters Nursery, Pond & Patio | Jackson, Tennessee

I got out in the gardens a little bit yesterday. It was such a beautiful day! Warm-ish and sunny, it strangely felt like a breezy Spring day… The soil is so soft from all the rain & warm temps & the robins and other birds were pulling worms 🐛 out of the ground and singing.

The birds were out in force feasting on seeds, berries & worms 🐛

I took this short video from above one of my Waterfalls looking down the stream as it flows away.

“I heard a bird sing
In the dark of December
A magical thing
And sweet to remember.”
“We are nearer to Spring
Than we were in September,
I heard a bird sing
In the dark of December.”
   ~ Oliver Herford.
Have a a great day!

Monday Morning Moment of Zen | Carters Nursery, Pond & Patio | Jackson, Tennessee
This is a Waterfall Feature we installed on a natural lake. We were going for a natural, native look so we used native mossy boulders and cedar driftwood and tried to conceal the source of the waterfalls to make it look like a creek up above is spilling over and creating this “Natural” feature. This is Carters Nursery, Pond & Patio’s “Monday Morning Moment of Zen.”

I hope this “Moment of Zen” adds a little something to your day! 😊

I had a great day exploring the Tennessee Aquarium last week. The displays are beautifully created! Great attention to detail is required to build a Feature that looks and feels Natural… The very top of the Aquarium is where the “natural” flow of water originates from streams & springs and represents a natural biome where native critters live. This area is home to the otters as well as some beautiful Waterfalls and streams. I hope this Stream and Waterfall lend a little Zen to your day!

Make Monday a FUN Day!

Large Waterfalls are AWESOME! | Carters Nursery, Pond & Patio | Jackson, TN

We used large mossy boulders and creek stone to construct this ‘Naturalistic’ Water Feature. We were striving to look as “Natural” as possible, so we used specimen quality boulders & cedar driftwood & stumps to help achieve our goal. We didn’t want the stone work to look “Done” or man made in any way & I really think we achieved what we were looking for. Luckily for us, so did our clients 😊 I wanted to share this today & I hope y’all enjoy. I always appreciate a little feedback, so let me know what you think.

Thanks! AND… Happy Pondering! 🙂
