Carter's Water Garden

Sunday Reflection’s…

The daffodils have bloomed, red buds, cherry’s and so many other early bloomers are showing out right now ❤️And todays event is a definite mile post every Spring. Daylight Savings time 🕰 It’s always tough loosing an hour of sleep… But, in a few days it’s fine, and we get the long evenings 💥 I am a fan for sure. The days will continue to get longer all the way to the Summer Solstice 🌞 Soon our Gardens will be in Full Bloom! Our vegetables will be in the ground and growing. Boating season is starting. It’s finally back! I LOVE Spring!

Soon the Azaleas, Dogwoods, Iris & more will be in full bloom ❤️ Don’t miss it!

More coffee, then who knows?

“In spring the morning is darker
farmers don’t like it one bit.
Children go to school in the dark,
it’s still light when bedtime they hit.

Others prefer daylight saving,
with longer evenings of light.
There’s more time for beach and barbies
before twilight fades into night.

In autumn clock hands fall back
for that missing hour to reclaim.
This upsets our sleeping pattern,
now the brain we need to retrain.

Time then returns to normal
sending the body into shock.
We are messing around with time
by moving those hands on the clock”

Have a great day!

Sunday Reflection’s…

It’s always easy to “Fall back”! My personal clock didn’t change though… I was wide awake shortly after 4am this morning. My iPhone had already updated, so I changed all the clocks ⏰, reset the oven and microwave clocks… Straitened up, made coffee, made biscuits and waited for the sunrise.

Shortly after breakfast, I let the chickens 🐓 out to free range a bit, then came back to drink some coffee ☕️

In the short time that I was in the house a couple of things happened. My sons Australian Shepherd got out of the fence and not only scattered my flock of chickens that were outside, she went into the hen house & ran ALL of my chickens out and scattered them to the wind 💨

You know what comes next… Trying to locate and round up chickens isn’t easy, in fact I’m still in the process… Y’all have a wonderful Sunday afternoon 🌞

“I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives.”

Sunday Reflections…

Were you early to church this morning? Or, were you more like me and actually set your clocks ahead like we were supposed to, only to have to drag your butt out of bed 🛏 Springing forward ain’t easy!

I will gladly readjust my time for SPRING!

As I watch the snow melt this morning, Spring is in the air! And in a week, it will be official 😊 I am so ready for longer evenings, flowers, boating season and homegrown tomato’s 🍅.

“In spring when maple buds are red,
We turn the clock an hour ahead;
Which means, each April that arrives,
We lose an hour out of our lives.

Who cares? When autumn birds in flocks
Fly southward, back we turn the clocks,
And so regain a lovely thing
That missing hour we lost in spring.”

IT Ends TODAY! | Carters Nursery, Pond & Patio | Jackson, TN

Here we are, Fall is in Peak Color in TN! Frost has become the norm over the last few days and Tonight, we set our clocks back! 😳

Most of us have smart phones nowadays, so our phones adjust automatically. But, all the other clocks in the house and in your vehicles will have to be manually set back…

Heres a little copy/paste from the interweb…

“When did Daylight Saving Time begin? Daylight Saving Time started on Sunday, March 14, 2021 and will end on Sunday, Nov. 7, 2021 — a run of 238 days. It has begin the second Sunday in March and lasts until the first Sunday in November since 2007.”

A few other interesting facts…

  • Many still love the practice because of longer Spring and Summer evenings!
  • They say it does make driving safer
  • And some say it saves a small amount of energy? Thats debatable…
  • But, it also causes some people problems…
  • Many loose sleep and find the change unhealthy. Physically and Mentally (depression from shorter evening hours)…

But, no matter how we feel about it, DST ends tomorrow! Be ready or, be the only one at church ⛪️ 😊🙏🏻

Enjoy this last evening of 6pm sunsets 🌅! Tomorrow it will be Dark by 5pm…. 😬

Enjoy the weekend!

Blue Moonbeams 🌚 & Trick or Treat Dreams 🎃

Blue Moon Tonight! First one since March 31st., 2018! Oh, and it’s on Halloween 🎃 which Makes it very special! The last Halloween with a Blue Moon was all the way back in 1944! We were fighting WW II! 💥 Oh, and it’s SATURDAY! When you combine these things with the fact that it’s also a Saturday, now we’re talking very rare! In fact, there won’t be another like it for 250 years!

Halloween night and the moon 🌝 is Full! It’s also a Blue Moon 🌚

Oh, and I almost forgot… One more factor to consider… Tonight is the night we roll back the clocks ⏰ an hour! Yep, it’s “Fall Back for Daylight Savings” tonight!

Set your clocks back tonight…

So if you add that factor to the Blue Moon, on Halloween 🎃 on a Saturday night – You blow the roof off the timeline of WHEN this will happen again! I’ve been searching and I don’t believe this exact sequence of events has EVER happened before?! Daylight Savings was started in 1918… That led to the question, WHEN will this all line up like this and happen again? I couldn’t completely track it down or do the exact math… But, if and when it does, it will be well over 1,000 years from now! 😳

Pretty cool huh 😎

Blue Moonbeams & Trick or Treat Dreams 🎃

Have a FUN evening! 🎃⏰💥🌚😱👀

Oh, Go Vote Tuesday! Use it, or loose it!

Happy Halloween 👻 🎃

God Bless America 🇺🇸

Sunday Reflections…

The older I get, the tougher it gets to “Spring Forward”! I’m just plain torn when it comes to daylight savings time! I mean, I do love the longer daylight hours! But, it really only changes things as far as schedule goes… It doesn’t add any time to the day at all… It just adjusts the clock and the daily hours of business. Then it takes us several days to adjust to getting up an hour early… Is it worth the effort?

my morning coffee came an hour earlier this morning! But, good news is we will have Daylight till after 7pm now! Boom 💥

The silver lining is of course the longer daylight hours. It won’t be dark now till after 7pm! I do love evenings outside in the garden!

But now it’s time for breakfast! 🍳 🥞

Maybe we will celebrate with a late bbq 🍗 this evening 😊

Have a great Sunday!

Sunday Reflections…

The leaves have been coming down like rain the last couple of days. It’s beautiful to watch. Add to that the 4 strait nights of freezing temps … November has made itself known 😊 Thanksgiving is coming!

Many trees are at peak color and the leaves are raining down when the wind blows…

“November comes
And November goes,
With the last red berries
And the first white snows.
With night coming early,
And dawn coming late,
And ice in the bucket
And frost by the gate.
The fires burn
And the kettles sing,
And earth sinks to rest
Until next spring.”

Springing Forward & Into Spring!

As you probably already know, you set your clocks forward tonight before bed 🛌 Because at 2am Sunday morning, we “Spring Forward” 1 hour! For the 1st few days it’s a tough transition for many! Loosing that hour of morning sleep is hard 😐 BUT, we get that hour at the end of the day instead!

There have been many reasons for it, from saving lighting fuel for war efforts to more time to produce food crops. I for one, LOVE the longer afternoons 😊

The official 1st day of Spring is in 10 days! WooHoo! 🎉 Now we will have those longer evenings to enjoy outdoors! Are YOU excited?

Here’s to Spring!

Ps: Don’t forget, or you’ll be late to church😊
