2023 is definitely off to a quick start for me. Back to work is an understatement… But certain things slow you down to pay homage and reflect on. Like my son turning 21 this past week ❤️ Milestones like this really make you reflect. Saying “time flies” just doesn’t tell the story, but in a way it does sum it up… Time is such an illusion. It slips right through our grasp and pours through our fingers, and we can never get it back. We have had a lot of time well spent together! I’ve made a point to spend as much time as possible with my family and with my son over the past 21 years! And the only regrets I can think of are the few things we didn’t get to do… YET! I feel very blessed to have him in my life and I look forward to what the future may bring.

The future looks bright for my little (6’3”) 21 year old son. What an impressive man he has become. 🙏🏻❤️
Sunday brunch and coffee are forthcoming ☕️ 🍳

My dad made/makes me feel
- safe
- grounded
- supported
- happy
- disciplined
- ”backed up”
- Proud!
I’ve never called him Father, always Dad!

I’m having my coffee and thinking about what’s next today… It’s Father’s Day! And lunch is at my house… I’m counting my blessings this morning ❤️

I think of my dad, my grandfather’s and so many great men that I looked up too all these years. Role models, teachers, providers, hero’s ❤️
I think of my son as well. He made me a dad😊 And will one day make a great one himself!

Happy Fathers Day to all the Dads, Pops, Fathers and Daddy’s out there! Today is YOUR day!
He never looks for praises.
He’s never one to boast.
He just goes on quietly working
For those he loves the most.
His dreams are seldom spoken.
His wants are very few,
And most of the time his worries
Will go unspoken, too.
He’s there… a firm foundation
Through all our storms of life,
A sturdy hand to hold onto
In times of stress and strife.
A true friend we can turn to
When times are good or bad.
One of our greatest blessings,
The man that we call Dad.

In just a little over 2 days, Father’s Day is gonna happen. Are you prepared?

I’m more of a Dad than a Father… At least I’d like to think so. “Dad” is a little less formal… I know a few Pops’ and a couple “Old Mans” and quite a few Daddy’s too 😊 I know I’ve got a great dad! When I think of my Dad many words come to mind… Dad, Pop, Role Model, Teacher, Leader, Provider… more!

So Sunday is the Big Day! What do you have planned for Your Dad? Better get cracking’!

Here’s a cool throwback Thursday collage. 4 Carter men down through the years 😊

I don’t have a good picture of my Popaw as a boy (upper left) but I do for my dad, myself and my son 😊
I LOVE looking back at old photos! Can you see the family resemblance 😊 Doyal, Charles, Mark & Jacob Carter!
This is my offering for #throwbackthursday !
Have a Great Day!

I have been looking for a 50th Anniversary card for Dads… Couldn’t find one! No calendar either… I don’t want to let a 50th for my Dad go by without a little recognition! Let me explain…
I have been a dad now for 17 years, my son is 17 years old- I am 50 which means my dad has been at it for half a century! WOW! It’s a very surreal thing! I can literally see that history repeats itself now 😊 Sometimes the things that come out of my mouth, instantaneously pop into my memory & I can see and hear my own Dad saying the exact same thing to me 30 or 40 years ago 😮 Surreal!
I Thank God that I have had this opportunity to have my Father (worlds Best Dad) & my own Son (worlds Best Son) right by my side all these years! It’s a blessing and a pleasure that I can’t truly put into words.

That’s my Dad on the right. And that’s my Son 2nd from the left in the black hat. We are going out to lunch later today to celebrate Fathers Day.
Happy 50th Fathers Day to my Dad! And, Happy Fathers Day to all the Dads out there today!
“By the time a man realizes that maybe his father was right, he usually has a son who thinks he’s wrong.”
~ Charles Wadsworth
PS: A prayer for those who’s fathers have passed today. Remember the good times.

Fathers Day is this Sunday. My Father has been a guiding influence for me my entire life! As I imagine yours has. But, dad gets a bad wrap… Father’s Day comes and goes almost unnoticed… No big ‘Hupla’, no special commercials or promotions, etc… BUT, not this year!

Bring your Dad by the Nursery & Save BIG on KOI! 30% off for Fathers Day the rest of the week! | Carters Nursery, Pond & Patio | Jackson, TN

I was a toddler in this picture. Around 1 year old. This one was at Station #2 down on Westwood. GREAT memories of that place and the time we spent there.

That’s me with my dad & my first dog Heidi – He let me pick out my very 1st. dog on my own 😊 I’m wearing his uniform hat and his coat… of course. He was & still is the BEST dad in the world! He taught me how to be a man! Don’t forget YOUR Dad on Father’s Day!
If Koi isn’t your Dads thing, that’s ok, I hope you will spend some quality time with your Dad this week in honor of all that Dads do.
Happy Father’s Day!

My father taught me a lot of things. One of the most important was that no matter what you do, you always do it right the 1st time! And, that the final details are the most important. The devil is in those details! Sitting here this beautiful Sunday morning, reflecting in the silence of the garden, it’s so apparent to me that those lessons made me who I am today. Thanks Dad!
