I was just trimming my plants back a little bit today… Its always a good practice when we’re around the 4th. of July… They just get heavy and tired and need a little TLC 😊 I just thought I would share some of my favorites and how they look after a little mid season trim…

The heat is on! It’s time to watch your garden grow 😊
Have a good week!

I had the honor to speak to a wonderful Garden Club earlier this week. I prepared a Keynote Presentation on “Low Maintenance, Custom Water Features” for the ladies, complete with handouts, prop’s & a power point projection show… As much as they enjoyed learning more about Water Features, I think I got an even bigger treat! This was their 65th Anniversary as a Garden Club & it was the hosts Birthday! Happy Birthday DD 💥 We all had Lots of FUN!

What a great group of ladies! So much positive energy & love for the Garden! Congratulations to the Evergreen Garden Club for 65 years of Gardening! This is just the beginning!
The Food was Awesome!
Many of the members of the club are friends and/or clients, so I felt right at home. It’s always nice to speak to an engaged audience, and all the members LOVE the hobby of Gardening!

I tried to get everyone in the shot, but there were so many in attendance I still missed a few ❤️ What a great morning speaking for the Evergreen Garden Club on their 65th. Anniversary! Here’s to Many More! 💥
“I have found, through years of practice, that people garden in order to make something grow; to interact with nature; to share, to find sanctuary, to heal, to honor the earth, to leave a mark. Through gardening, we feel whole as we make our personal work of art upon our land.”
~ Julie Moir Messervy
Thanks again to the wonderful Ladies of the Evergreen Garden Club! Have a Great Day! Spring is Coming! 💐

I know I say this every week, But, this show is just FUN! It’s always Awesome to hang out with the 180 Crew! Dan & Sea Bass Rock! PLUS – today Laura Lamun was in the house talking about organic foods, essential oils and one of the coolest things I have ever seen – Sonic Sound Therapy! Laura never ceases to amaze with her vast knowledge of herbs, oils, foods and alternative methods of health and healing! She explained a bit about WHAT Sound Healing was today!
Sound healing is the therapeutic use of sound frequencies on a person, with the intention of bringing them into a state of harmony by balancing the physical, mental, emotional, and/or spiritual aspects of their being. Laura demonstrated Sound Healing on us with her tuning forks and I have to say, it was really cool! What she used is called – Vibration Healing and it’s done by direct contact on the body with several specifically tuned “sound healing instruments” aka; Tuning Forks.
AND we talked about all sorts of things on top of all that! Here’s just a few…
- Crepe myrtle bark scale is real! It’s EVERYWHERE now! We had 2 callers today! Here is a link to more info – https://ag.tennessee.edu/utg/Documents/CMBS_explained.pdf

This question was from the radio show today. I thought it was a good question, so I chose it to be the
“Friday radio/blog question” – Only the 2nd one so far.
Question – “HOW can I try gardening at an easy, entry level? I have NEVER grown anything.”
Answer –
- My suggestion is to try something simple but with meaning. Something that will reward your labor. How about a “salsa container garden”.
- This will require 3 containers (minimum, you can do more if you want) You can stay simple with 3 gal. plastic pots or you can get glazed pottery, or even build a small raised bed to grow your plants. I say start somewhere in the middle. If you enjoy this hobby, you can add more containers or branch out to raised beds or a small plot.
- Use quality potting soil labeled for edibles. I use an organic potting mix.
- Go to a local Independent Garden Center and pick out a few basic staple plants – 1/Tomatoes (My favorite is Cherokee Purple) 2/Peppers(Bell &/or Jalapeño) 3/Cilantro (you can get a plant or a packet of seeds. Easy to germinate & grow).
- Get a good organic plant food to use on your new Salsa Garden and make sure you know how to apply it & how often to water and feed!
Then watch your plants grow and produce organic vegetables for you to enjoy! I add chopped onion, a little garlic, lime juice & a little salt & pepper. WOW! Nothing better than fresh SALSA!
This will be an easy, rewarding way to get your feet wet in the hobby of Gardening! Be careful though, It’s addictive! 🙂
Thanks & Enjoy the Weekend!
