We woke up this morning to electricity ⚡️ Yes! Lights 💡 running water 🚿 ICE! 🧊 Wow 🤩 Not having these basics at your fingertips for just a couple of days is… Strange to say the least. We are so use to having them, we can completely take it for granted that they will always be there at the exact moment we need them…
80 MPH strait line winds are no joke! Think Hurricane… I was downtown in the radio studio when it hit – 💥 It shook the whole building! The roof on the building across the street started peeling off and flying down the street 🌬 Traffic cones and barrels were flipping down the street, cartwheeling into parked cars and flying through the air. Trees were snapping, so were the power lines! The signal went out, along with all streaming and phone lines. It was one of the worst storm scenes I have ever witnessed, and it was over in a matter of minutes.

This is the window I watched the debris blown hurricane force wind storm through ☝🏼 But I really saw the damage that was done on the ride home. Trees down everywhere! Power poles and lines down all over town. Debris, trash cans, barrels, toys, clothes, you name it were blown into piles everywhere you looked. Wow! Then when I got home… No power. I wasn’t surprised after seeing the level of damage. Luckily, no one here was hurt 🙏🏻 We had some damage, but nothing we couldn’t clean up and repair. Then we sat down and expected the power to pop back on any minute. But it didn’t. None Friday, none Friday night. So we were forced to close Saturday. No power all day… But, they did restore power over night and this morning, we had lights and water🚿 a HOT Shower was nice 😊
- Thank you 🙏🏻 to all the hard working men and women who worked day and night for 2 days to clean all that mess up and get the town back up and running. We are fortunate to have dedicated folks to take care of business like this! ❤️
So what did we do to pass the time? Here’s a little video for ya’ Entertainment is where you find it 😊

Morning coffee ☕️ Brunch… Bummin’ around… “Let’s do whatever” – Things my wife has asked for on her Birthday Weekend out. She’s cool like that 😊

So I took her out for a late Brunch… We ended up at a little local joint in a residential neighborhood (converted house) that was described as a “Punk Rock Waffle House”… I knew she was gonna love it when we walked in and the Talking Heads was on the speaker 🔊
After this… Who knows! This is her Birthday weekend! We’re gonna see what happens…

No matter what the weather or the day of the week, when you have living things that depend on you, you take care of it. Life on the farm, life in the garden, in the greenhouse, the backyard and the living room too…
So knocking out todays check list took a little longer than expected… but it got done, and then we had brunch 😊

Later this evening we’re gonna have a good bonfire 🔥 Nothing much better than that…
“Every day—
Sunup, sundown—
You will find
A chore ‘round.
Forget the list
Of things “to do, ”
One never finishes,
Nor is through.
They multiply
Throughout the day…
Won’t go away.
They’re here to stay.”

I don’t know what to call it, but I seem to really be suffering from… something? Seasonal Affected Disorder (S.A.D.)? cabin fever?? Spring fever??? Call it what you want, but I know the feeling well and it always follows the holidays and precedes Spring.

But, to stay positive, I have gotten a lot done in the office! And 2022 is looking good business wise… And, we are trying to eat healthier 🍲 I recently found out that quiche ain’t all that bad!

Another good note – The Titans won! 🏈 #1 seed! Bye week and home-field advantage!💥 The playoffs are about to begin! I guess I can make it a few more weeks! But from here on out my call will be “Spring is Coming”!
“The sun came out,
And the snowman cried.
His tears ran down
on every side.
His tears ran down
Till the spot was cleared.
He cried so hard
That he disappeared.”

Well the new year is off and running 🏃♀️ It went from 75 degrees with a south wind yesterday to 23 degrees, high wind and snow today… But, thats life in West TN 😊 We got a LOT done in the house today. All the Holiday deco put away for the year and the house looks ready for Spring. We had a great late morning brunch…

Followed by one of my wife’s favorites for dinner 🍲

Not a bad start to the year if you ask me 💥

striding a shadowy steed of snow.”

Well, I actually slept late this morning 😴 Late night movie marathon + Rain on a tin roof made it possible 😊 For the record, I actually woke up at my normal time! (with only a few hours of sleep…) But that rain coming down on the tin roof we were sleeping under, simply lulled me back to sleep 💤 Cut to brunch 🧇 🍳 Now we are going for an extended walk 🥾 So Im gonna post a few pics from the last couple days as my reflections…

Theres more weekend to enjoy, so Im off!
“Waking up to the sound of rain on a tin roof,
Music to my ears.
Darkness still lurks as I open my ears and hear this sound.
Music softly playing,
Describes this day.
The rain pours down softly,
The sky is all grey”
~ Jeri Martindale
Enjoy your Sunday!

Have you been outside today? Wow! It’s like a warm Spring morning out there! So beautiful. I went out and scavenged through what’s left of the tomato plants and found a few more good ones! 🍅💥 I love it ❤️ I brought them in and added them to the large group on the counter. Jo has put out some beautiful Thanksgiving decorations and was taking pictures and trying out some new editing apps. When I looked at them, I really got the feeling of Home. Seeing her simple picture made me feel good. My morning has been made 😊 Now, back to Sunday Brunch…

”The first supermarket supposedly appeared on the American landscape in 1946. That is not very long ago. Until then, where was all the food? Dear folks, local fields, and forests. It was near kitchens, near tables, near bedsides. It was in the pantry, the cellar, the backyard.

Have a great day! Get Outside!

Sunday Morning Breakfast 🥞 🍳 🥚 It’s an institution at our house 😊 I am the short order cook taking orders… And that’s fine with me ❤️

Fried eggs, pancakes 🥞, omelettes, scrambled eggs, Maple syrup, blueberry syrup with whipped cream, you name it, I’ll fix it 😎
“When you wake up in the morning, Pooh,” said Piglet at last, “what’s the first thing you say to yourself?”
“What’s for breakfast?” said Pooh. “What do you say, Piglet?”
“I say, I wonder what’s going to happen exciting today?” said Piglet.
Pooh nodded thoughtfully. “It’s the same thing,” he said.
Have a Blessed Day 🙏🏻
