Hot! No rain! Sticky! What a great week!😊 I just finished my morning watering chores and am about to fix breakfast for my mother in law, Kathy. Pancakes 🥞 Steak 🥩 and Eggs 🍳! Its her Birthday! Happy Birthday to the best Mother-In-Law you could ask for ❤️

On top of that, later today I have a VIP guest coming by to do a little Vlogging 📽 I’ll talk more about that in future blogs and maybe a ‘Vlog’ or two… But, for a little teaser, he’s one of the biggest YouTube stars on the Planet 🌎 and he is coming to showcase my Nursery and some of my Waterfalls 💥 He is also an old friend.

Now I’m off to the kitchen! Breakfast wont wait!

Happy Birthday Kathy!

I was always teased about this day because not only is it a very important part of our history as a country, it’s my birthday as well 😊 This will be the 1st time in my life that I won’t get a call from my Uncle Doug saying “your birthday still lives in Infamy”… He passed away earlier this year… He was my first thought when I woke up this morning 🙏🏻 Rest in peace Uncle Doug.
We can never forget these important dates in our history! The attack on Pearl Harbor was the attack that “Woke the sleeping giant”! It ushered us into WWII, to ultimate victory & established the United States as the preeminent Super Power in the entire world
It’s our duty to remember and to teach our kids what happened and why.

Y’all have a wonderful day. Never forget!
God Bless America! 🇺🇸
PS: And Thanks for all the Birthday wishes!❤️

Today is a special day! In more ways than 1… Today, every American should remember the D-Day Invasion of WWII, June 6, 1944. That was the day that Allied forces invaded northern France by means of beach landings in Normandy. My grandfathers unit was there (Omaha Beach) and I have always felt a sense of pride and gratitude knowing what all those great men did for us 🇺🇸

The other thing that makes this a very special day is that today is my moms birthday! 🎂 A very special day indeed! 💥

You can’t send mom a Facebook Birthday message, because she’s not on Facebook 😊 BUT, she does read my BLOG … So feel free to drop a HB comment here if you’d like to. I’ll make sure she gets it 😊
Thanks mom for all you do! You are a linchpin! You hold it all together and make it all work. I don’t know what I would do without you 🙏🏻❤️
Happy Birthday! 🎈 I Love You! ❤️
“Thoughtful lady, that works so hard,
Always been there, my dear lifeguard.
Places others before herself,
Proud of pictures on her shelf.
When in pain, maintains here smile,
Multi-tasking, she’s versatile.
With all of this; time she finds,
Her love for us, constantly reminds.
On her birthday, just want to say,
I don’t know how, I will repay?
Eternally grateful, I hope she will see,
The greatest mother, she will always be.

April 1st. is April fools day to most… In fact, I had planned a funny post this morning myself… But my mind and emotions steered me in a different direction completely, and I had to start over…
Today was also my Uncle Doug’s birthday. He recently passed away from Covid 19 and has been heavy on my mind. I always took him out for his birthday to a place of his choosing. Sometimes it was as simple as his favorite place for Chinese food here in town, or a place in Memphis for BBQ or maybe he would say “Let’s get some steaks 🥩 and fix dinner for everyone. But since I can remember, I spent this day with him.

My blog title today was meant to express how I feel about the love I have for my Uncle.
Time immemorial (Latin: Ab immemorabili) is a phrase meaning time extending beyond the reach of memory, record, or tradition, indefinitely ancient, “ancient beyond memory or record”. In law, it means that a property or benefit has been enjoyed for so long that its owner does not have to prove how they came to own it.
We were close from the day I was born, before my memory’s started! “beyond memory or record”…
He was a true blessing in my life. Happy Birthday in Heaven Uncle Doug! 🙏🏻 You are truly missed ❤️
“God will wipe away every tear from their eyes,
and death shall be no more,
neither shall there be mourning, nor crying,
nor pain anymore,
for the former things have passed away.”
– Revelation 21:4
PS: If you have someone in your life that has been there for you “beyond memory or record”, be it family or a life long best friend, give them a hug today and tell them you Love them. Things happen in the blink of an eye and then all that’s left, is your memories… 🙏🏻

Today is Johnny’s birthdate. This isn’t really a birthday kind of song, but it will speak to you and maybe haunt you a bit as well. It does me…
Have a great weekend

My little baby boy is all grown up 🥲 He’s a man now… I still look at him and see the wild adventurous youngster that wore his Batman getup EVERYWHERE for years 😊 His love for animals is apparent, as is his love for family and friends ❤️ I put together a quick collage of photos that I think captures at least a bit of his essence…

He has been all over the place with his mom and me. Worked on projects, played with tigers, received awards for his stewardship and more. I’m a very proud papa!
Happy Birthday Jacob!

We say “Happy Birthday” to everyone nowadays. Facebook has seen to that! Just miss the wrong persons Facebook birthday announcement and click! You’ve been unfriended! How dare you 😮
So, to avoid, ‘all that… Happy Birthday Mr. President!
Did you know that Lincolns birthday is not a legal holiday in most states? It’s not here in Tennessee. Only Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Texas, California, Missouri, New York and Hodgenville, Kentucky observe the day. The rest of us celebrate Presidents Day on the 3rd. Monday of February… Combining his and Washington’s birthdates into one big National Day! That’s this coming Monday the 17th. by the way!
So, Happy Birthday Mr. Lincoln! Who knows where we would be without you…

I have had a great birthday weekend! I got up early this morning, had coffee & started breakfast so everyone would wake to a great smell. Payback of sorts 😊 Jo & Jacob both went above & beyond what I expected for my birthday the last couple of days. Lots of friends & family went out of their way to let me know they cared! From Facebook, emails, texts, cards, pies, cakes & calls, I was blown away by the Love and Well Wishes from friends and family. I’m Blessed!
“We all have a cherished garden we tend –
It is planted with love of family and friends.
The memories and dreams we treasure and share
Are like beautiful roses found blooming there.
The comfort and care on which we depend
Is given with love between family and friends.
The sunshine of laughter and rain of a tear
Only make our love grow with each passing year.
We may all be ourselves with no need to pretend
Because of the love of family and friends;
They notice the rainbows and weather the showers.
They overlook weeds and praise all our flowers.
The most valuable thing is the time that we spend
Tending this garden with family and friends.
When counting our blessings, we know from the start
That family and friends come first in our heart.”

What a perfect wintry morning! It’s freezing cold, sleet and freezing rain have been coming down, and I just turned 50 years old! 😳
Everyone has been asking me “How does it feel to turn 50”? So I’ve been reflecting & pondering on the question… 🤔

This has always been my philosophy. Growing older is a privilege & if your lucky, you’ll age gracefully … But you don’t have to fully “grow up”! 😊
50 feels pretty good really! I’ve been blessed with a great family & wonderful friends & I love ❤️ my Job! Plus, it’s almost Christmas 🎄
Christmas is coming fast this year!

Christmas is coming fast this year! But, we are all ready for a wonderful Christmas with family & friends 🎅🏻
Thank you All for the outpouring of love the last couple days! It made hitting the “Half Century Mark” a pleasure 😍
“There is a fountain of youth: it is your mind, your talents, the creativity you bring to your life and the lives of people you love. When you learn to tap this source, you will truly have defeated age.”
~ Sophia Loren.
Peace, Love & Merry Christmas!
